📋 Description

• The Platform Consultant role within Allstate Cyber Operations & Platforms is pivotal in shaping a cohesive, scalable Security Operations platform ecosystem that integrates AI, data, and tooling to enable secure, intelligence-driven cyber operations by design.
• Day to day, the consultant defines architecture patterns, integration standards, and ecosystem strategy across Agentic Cyber Platforms, Security Data & Observability, and Tooling & Platform; translates operational intent into enterprise-scale platform design; ensures interoperability between AI systems, data platforms, and tooling; leads build vs. buy vs. integrate decisions; and drives standardization and adoption through scalable, reusable "paved roads".
• The team operates within Allstate’s Cyber Operations & Platforms organization, part of Digital Product Teams focused on building and operating a unified security operations ecosystem that spans AI operationalization, high-fidelity telemetry, and governed tooling integration.
• In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in platform architecture, AI enablement, distributed systems, and cross-functional technical leadership; influence architecture direction across multiple engineering teams; mentor peers in best practices; and contribute to Allstate’s mission of protecting families through innovative cybersecurity solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years software engineering experience in at least 3 programming paradigms including Object-oriented (Java & JavaScript required and at least one other language), Procedural/systems (e.g., Go, Rust, C), and Functional (e.g., F#, Elixir, Clojure, Haskell)
• Experience using modern development tools (IntelliJ or VS Code, Git/GitHub, Spring Boot) and designing robust RESTful APIs
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on expertise in architecting and delivering large-scale distributed systems such as cloud-native microservices on Docker/Kubernetes deployed on AWS, Azure, or equivalent, ensuring scalability, high availability, and performance
• Demonstrated success as a high-impact technical advisor to multiple engineering teams with proven ability to influence architecture direction and mentor engineers in best practices
• Expert-level knowledge of Agile/XP and DevOps methodologies including paired programming, TDD, and CI/CD automation with a track record of using these practices to accelerate delivery and improve quality
