📋 Description

• • The Policy Communications Manager at OpenAI will play a critical role in advancing the company’s mission to ensure artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity by leading strategic communications on national security, government partnerships, cybersecurity, science, and AI policy.
• • Day to day, the role involves developing and executing communication plans for press, policymakers, and the public; managing media relationships and inbound requests; collaborating with global affairs, legal, and product teams; providing communications counsel across the organization; and anticipating and mitigating reputational risks.
• • OpenAI’s Communications team is a small, high-impact group focused on External and Internal Communications, dedicated to authentically conveying the company’s technology, values, and safety-first approach to building powerful AI systems.
• • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in policy and technology communications, shape public understanding of AI at the intersection of government and innovation, and contribute to responsible AI deployment through strategic storytelling and stakeholder engagement.
