📋 Description
- • As a Portuguese Interpreter at LanguageLine Solutions, you will play a vital role in breaking down language and cultural barriers for limited-English speakers and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing across critical sectors such as healthcare, government, emergency services, education, and business.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include responding promptly to video and audio interpreting sessions, delivering accurate interpretation between Portuguese and English, maintaining professionalism during emotionally charged or high-stress calls (such as 911 or medical emergencies), and using dedicated devices to type data while interpreting via video or phone.

🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in Portuguese and English with strong cultural competency and ability to assess regional and accent differences
- • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure high accuracy during interpretation
- • Ability to remain neutral, objective, and detached during sensitive calls involving topics such as end-of-life care, pregnancy termination, or gender expression
- • High school diploma or equivalent; education or experience in language-related fields (teaching, translation, interpretation) preferred
- • Must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, and able to pass a background check and/or drug screen if required
- • Access to a dedicated personal device (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS laptop/desktop, iPadOS/Android tablet, or iOS/Android smartphone) and a high-speed internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, <300 ms ping, <30 ms jitter)
