  • • As a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer on the Applied Engineering team, your primary responsibility will be to lead technical pre-sales engagements. This involves conducting in-depth technical discovery sessions with enterprise prospects and customers to thoroughly understand their challenges and objectives. You will architect and meticulously implement custom proof-of-concepts (POCs) and compelling technical demonstrations tailored to address specific customer use cases, showcasing the power and applicability of Deepgram's platform. A key aspect of your role will be providing expert guidance on API integration strategies, optimizing performance for various applications, and advising on robust deployment strategies that align with customer infrastructure and requirements. You will collaborate closely with Account Executives, acting as their technical counterpart to effectively navigate and overcome technical objections, thereby accelerating the sales cycle and increasing win rates. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in the creation of valuable technical content, including comprehensive implementation guides, detailed reference architectures, and best practices documentation, which will empower our customers and internal teams. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior team members, sharing your extensive technical knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development across the organization. A significant part of your contribution will involve representing the voice of the customer, channeling their feedback and insights directly to our product and engineering teams to influence future development and strategy.
  • • The Applied Engineering (AppEng) team at Deepgram is a unique, integrated unit that combines functions often separated into Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Implementation, and Technical Support in other companies. This unified approach allows us to serve as the primary technical interface between Deepgram and our customers throughout their entire journey, from initial engagement to ongoing success. We work in close synergy with our Customer Success and Developer Experience (DX) teams to ensure a consistently positive and growth-focused experience for our customers. Simultaneously, we maintain strong collaborations with our Product and Engineering teams, ensuring that the solutions we deliver are precisely aligned with customer needs and market demands. This holistic model enables us to provide comprehensive technical guidance and cultivate deeper, more meaningful relationships with our customer base. As an Applied Engineer, you will be primarily focused on the critical pre-sales aspects of this customer lifecycle, while also being presented with opportunities to contribute to and gain experience across the full spectrum of customer engagement.
  • • In your first 30 days, you will undergo a comprehensive onboarding program designed to immerse you in Deepgram's technology, products, and the competitive landscape. You will shadow senior team members on customer calls, gaining practical insights into client interactions, and begin building foundational technical demos. A key objective will be to achieve proficiency with our core APIs and documentation. By the 60-day mark, you will be expected to lead technical discovery calls alongside account executives and develop custom proof-of-concepts for active prospects. You will also start contributing to technical content creation and actively participate in sales strategy sessions, providing critical technical insights to ongoing deals. Upon reaching 90 days, you will own the technical relationship with your assigned accounts, independently developing and presenting complex solutions that directly address specific customer challenges. Furthermore, you will begin mentoring newer team members and actively contribute to the refinement and evolution of our pre-sales methodology, solidifying your role as a key technical leader within the team.
