Pure Storage, a trailblazer in flash technology, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to join our distinguished federal civilian team, operating remotely with a focus on the Washington D.C. area.
- • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in understanding the intricate business drivers and decision-making motivations of our federal civilian clients. Your primary objective will be to bridge the gap between complex technological solutions, encompassing the comprehensive Pure Storage portfolio and its synergistic ecosystem partners, and tangible, measurable business outcomes that directly address agency needs and strategic goals.
- • You will forge strong, collaborative partnerships with account managers, specialist teams, and channel partners, orchestrating a cohesive and customer-centric strategy. This synergy is critical for driving significant revenue growth and securing new business opportunities within the federal civilian sector.
- • Your technical leadership and profound domain expertise in storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and a deep understanding of competitive storage offerings across DAS, NAS, and SAN product spaces will be key to delighting both our customers and your internal colleagues.
- • You will take ownership of the technical engagement lifecycle, expertly managing evaluations, performance benchmarks, and intricate system configurations to demonstrate the unparalleled value of Pure Storage solutions.
- • Prepare and deliver compelling, high-impact technical product and architecture presentations that captivate audiences and secure the technical win with clients and prospective accounts. Your ability to articulate complex concepts with clarity and conviction will be paramount.
- • Masterfully capture customer requirements, translating their unique business needs into innovative, forward-thinking solutions designed to accelerate their growth, enhance their capacity, and modernize their infrastructure.

- • Your experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments will be crucial for deploying and managing complex solutions.
- • A strong understanding of digital transformation initiatives, including Cloud Native architectures, hybrid cloud strategies (On-Prem, Public Cloud), provisioning automation, and containerization technologies, is essential.
- • Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware, as well as Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking principles, will be vital for integrating Pure Storage solutions into existing infrastructures.
- • Your curiosity and inherent passion for technology will drive your ability to effectively explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to a diverse range of customers, fostering excitement and understanding.
- • Experience with storage-intensive applications, such as structured databases (SQL, Oracle), and their specific requirements, is highly desirable and will enable you to provide tailored solutions.
- • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills, is fundamental to success in this client-facing role.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications, with a strong emphasis on pre-sales experience.
- • Proven experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
- • Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions.
- • Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN).
- • Strong knowledge of digital transformation to a Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
- • Prior experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients, including contributing to or leading RFP/RFQ/RFI responses.
