Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the entire pre-sales technical journey for physical security projects across West Michigan and nationwide, translating complex customer challenges into bullet-proof, budget-aligned solutions that set the stage for flawless execution.
- • Conduct meticulous on-site and remote assessments—walking rooftops, server rooms, and loading docks—capturing every camera angle, cable path, and card reader location so nothing is left to chance.
- • Translate field findings into crystal-clear Bills of Materials, line-item specifications, and detailed Scopes of Work that empower sales reps to quote confidently and project teams to build without surprises.
- • Draft project hand-off packets that become the single source of truth for installers, programmers, and service engineers, ensuring continuity from handshake to final punch-list.
- • Become the customer’s trusted technical voice in the room—listening first, white-boarding second, and then delivering tailored presentations that show exactly how K Group’s access control, video surveillance, and intrusion systems solve real-world problems.
- • Partner shoulder-to-shoulder with sales reps inside ConnectWise Manage, updating opportunities, logging discoveries, and protecting margins so every deal stays profitable and on schedule.
- • Master CWM Opportunities and the Sell proposal application, turning raw notes into polished, professional proposals that win deals and shorten sales cycles.
- • Interpret architectural blueprints, one-line diagrams, and spec books with the precision of a design engineer, flagging conflicts early and proposing code-compliant alternatives that save time and money.
- • Maintain an expert-level command of RSI’s product portfolio—cameras, NVRs, controllers, readers, VMS platforms—so you can recommend the right mix of hardware and software for every environment, from K-12 schools to 24/7 manufacturing plants.
- • Serve as the technical conscience of the sales process, ensuring every design follows NEC, NFPA, and industry best practices while still meeting customer wish-lists and budget realities.
- • Record your time with surgical accuracy, capturing pre-sales hours that feed forecasting, resource planning, and future pricing models.
- • When the deal closes, remain the technical touchpoint—answiting installer questions, clarifying cable specs, and jumping on video calls to keep momentum alive until the project is officially handed off to the service team.
- • Elevate the broader organization by authoring best-practice guides, quick-start checklists, and troubleshooting playbooks that level-up technicians and reduce repeat service calls.
- • Occasionally roll up your sleeves alongside the service team, lending advanced troubleshooting skills on complex integrations and turning post-sale issues into future upsell opportunities.
- • Continuously evaluate the strengths and limitations of the current technology stack, feeding market intelligence back to leadership so K Group stays ahead of emerging threats and new product releases.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of hands-on physical security field experience—installing, configuring, or designing access control, IP video, and intrusion systems in commercial environments.
- • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and electrical schematics without supervision.
- • Strong working knowledge of Windows server/client operating systems, IP networking fundamentals (VLANs, subnets, PoE), and common VMS platforms.
- • Associate degree in Electronics, Information Systems, or related technical field—or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- • Proven track record of meeting tight pre-sales deadlines while juggling multiple concurrent opportunities.
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100% employer-paid family health, dental, vision, and disability insurance—zero payroll deductions for you or your dependents.
- • 401(k) with guaranteed Safe Harbor contributions plus annual profit-sharing, putting real dollars toward your retirement every year.
- • Competitive base salary complemented by bonus and commission programs that reward every successful design you deliver.
- • Generous PTO plus Volunteer Paid Time Off (VTO) so you can recharge and give back to the community you help protect.
