📋 Description

• Lead the design and delivery of cloud-native architectures that power Fortune 500 and high-growth start-ups alike, translating complex business problems into elegant, scalable AWS solutions that drive measurable impact.
• Serve as the technical North Star for multi-disciplinary delivery squads—spanning cloud engineers, data scientists, security specialists, and product owners—guiding them through every phase of the software development lifecycle from discovery and ideation to production deployment and continuous optimization.
• Own the end-to-end technical roadmap for large-scale workload migrations and green-field modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars (operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainability).
• Architect containerized microservices, serverless event-driven systems, data lakes, and streaming analytics platforms using native AWS services such as EKS, Lambda, Kinesis, Glue, Redshift, and DynamoDB, while enforcing Infrastructure-as-Code best practices with Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK.
• Establish and evangelize engineering standards, reference architectures, and reusable accelerators that reduce delivery risk and compress time-to-value for clients across fintech, healthtech, SaaS, e-commerce, and media verticals.
• Partner directly with C-suite stakeholders to translate strategic business objectives into technical epics, secure executive buy-in for architectural decisions, and quantify ROI through cost modeling, performance benchmarks, and risk-reduction metrics.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through architectural design reviews, pair programming, brown-bag sessions, and formal career development plans, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and psychological safety.
• Drive pre-sales technical discovery workshops, solution proposals, and SOW scoping, translating ambiguous requirements into clearly defined deliverables, resource plans, and phased release schedules that set client expectations and maximize gross margin.
• Continuously scan the AWS ecosystem for emerging services (e.g., Graviton, Bedrock, SageMaker Canvas) and craft pragmatic adoption strategies that give clients a competitive edge without incurring unnecessary technical debt.
• Champion security-by-design and compliance-by-default, integrating controls such as IAM least-privilege policies, GuardDuty threat detection, Config conformance packs, and automated evidence collection for SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and FedRAMP.
• Establish observability baselines using CloudWatch, X-Ray, Prometheus, and Grafana; define SLIs/SLOs that align with customer-facing SLAs; and implement chaos engineering practices to validate resilience under real-world failure modes.
• Collaborate with Caylent’s internal product teams to package repeatable IP—blueprints, Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, and policy-as-code libraries—into Caylent Catalyst, our proprietary accelerator platform that shortens project kickoff from weeks to days.
• Contribute thought leadership via blog posts, webinars, open-source contributions, and speaking engagements at AWS re:Invent, KubeCon, and ServerlessConf, amplifying Caylent’s brand and attracting top-tier talent.
• Facilitate blameless post-incident reviews, translating lessons learned into actionable backlog items that continuously raise the bar for reliability, performance, and customer trust.
• Balance long-term architectural vision with pragmatic delivery constraints, making tough trade-offs explicit to stakeholders and ensuring technical debt is always intentional, visible, and repayable.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years designing and delivering cloud-native solutions on AWS, with deep expertise across compute, networking, storage, security, data, and AI/ML services.
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale migrations or green-field builds (>$5M TCV) using Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, containerization, and microservices patterns.
• Expert-level certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Professional and at least one specialty (Security, DevOps, Data, or Machine Learning).
• Demonstrated ability to present complex technical concepts to executive audiences and negotiate win-win architectural decisions under budget, regulatory, and timeline pressure.
• Nice-to-have: Kubernetes CKA/CKAD, HashiCorp Terraform, or CNCF project contributions; multi-cloud (Azure/GCP) fluency; experience with regulated industries (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, FedRAMP).
