Principal Engineer

📋 Description

• • Own the technical vision and architecture for Asteri’s AI-native Work Intelligence & Orchestration Platform, translating complex enterprise requirements into elegant, scalable systems that process millions of workflow events per day.
• • Architect and evolve end-to-end, full-stack solutions spanning React/TypeScript front ends, Python/Node.js micro-services, Postgres data models, and cloud-native infrastructure, ensuring every layer meets enterprise-grade security, compliance, and performance SLAs.
• • Design and implement sophisticated workflow orchestration engines that coordinate AI agents, human reviewers, and legacy enterprise systems, embedding policy enforcement, audit trails, and rollback capabilities directly into the execution fabric.
• • Drive the integration strategy for dozens of enterprise data sources—ERP, CRM, ticketing, identity, and observability tools—creating resilient, event-driven pipelines that guarantee exactly-once semantics and sub-second latency for critical business processes.
• • Establish and champion engineering standards for code quality, automated testing (unit, integration, chaos, load), CI/CD, and progressive delivery, raising the bar for reliability and developer velocity across all squads.
• • Lead technical reviews, architecture decision records (ADRs), and cross-team design sessions, mentoring senior and staff engineers while fostering a culture of psychological safety and continuous learning.
• • Partner directly with Product, AI Research, and Design leadership to translate high-level product strategy into quarterly technical roadmaps, balancing innovation with pragmatic risk management for Fortune-500 deployments.
• • Instrument every service with advanced observability (OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, real-time SLO dashboards) and own the incident-response lifecycle—from proactive detection to blameless post-mortems and systemic fixes.
• • Spearhead security and compliance initiatives, mapping regulatory frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP) to technical controls such as end-to-end encryption, zero-trust networking, and fine-grained RBAC/ABAC.
• • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies—vector databases, serverless runtimes, confidential computing, policy-as-code—and conduct rapid proofs-of-concept that inform long-term platform bets.
• • Optimize cloud spend and carbon footprint by rightsizing workloads, adopting spot-instance strategies, and implementing FinOps best practices across AWS/GCP multi-region deployments.
• • Represent Asteri externally at conferences, meetups, and customer advisory boards, sharing architectural insights and gathering feedback that shapes the next generation of AI-driven work orchestration.
