- • As a Principal Firmware Engineer at DexCom, you will design, define, and oversee the high-level technical architecture of embedded/firmware software systems for iCGM products, playing a critical role in advancing continuous glucose monitoring technology that improves diabetes management and empowers people to take control of their health.
- • Day to day, you will design and implement technical specifications for embedded firmware architectures, collaborate with hardware teams on integration (including driver development, battery management, and memory optimization), lead and mentor engineering teams through code reviews and technical guidance, conduct performance analysis and optimization for reliability and security, and ensure compliance with FDA standards and regulatory requirements.

🎯 Requirements
- • Substantial experience in embedded systems design, development, and debugging with expertise in C/C++ and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- • Deep understanding of microprocessor/microcontroller architecture (ARM Cortex, etc.), low-level peripheral drivers, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, BLE)
- • Strong proficiency in software architectural design patterns, modularity, and reusability
- • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 15+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree and 10+ years equivalent experience, or PhD and 7+ years of experience
- • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences, from engineers to executives
