📋 Description
- • Principal Forward Deployed Engineer – Applied AI Focus: This is the deep-end engineering role on the FDE bench at Titan AI Inc., where you serve as the technical authority in client engagements, building secure, production-grade AI systems for banking clients under rigorous regulatory scrutiny. You’re not just configuring the platform — you’re extending it, integrating deeply into client systems, and shaping both delivery and product direction.
- • Day to day, you’ll lead technical design and delivery of complex banking AI engagements, partner directly with client engineering, security, and architecture teams, architect end-to-end agentic systems (data ingress, model orchestration, evals, observability, security), decide what to build on Titan’s platform vs. bespoke vs. roadmap contributions, mentor mid-level FDEs, and represent Titan’s engineering credibility to banking CTOs, CISOs, and architects.
- • Titan AI Inc. is a pre-Series A company building the AI platform for banking, founded by alumni from Goldman Sachs, KeyBank, and the OCC. The platform includes Titan Foundry (secure AI model gateway), Banking-Reasoning Models (domain-specific SLMs), and Banking Agents (configurable AI apps for lending, compliance, underwriting, operations). The team is small, mission-driven, and shipping real impact to 4,000+ U.S. banks.
- • In this role, you’ll deepen your expertise in regulated-industry AI systems, influence platform evolution through reusable patterns, gain end-to-end ownership of high-stakes AI deployments, and grow as a systems thinker and client-facing technical leader in the financial services AI space.
🎯 Requirements
- • Senior-level full-stack engineering with strong backend expertise in distributed systems, API design, secure integration patterns, and infrastructure fluency
- • Deep experience building production-grade agents using LangChain, LangGraph, DeepAgents, and model-provider SDKs (Claude SDK, OpenAI Agents SDK)
- • Hands-on experience designing and running evals, familiarity with training/fine-tuning loops, and strong knowledge of AI security frameworks (observability, data controls, model gateways, prompt/tool-call sandboxing)
- • Proven ability to ship production code under banking-grade scrutiny, with preferred experience in banking, insurance, healthcare, defense, energy, or other regulated industries
- • Strong client-facing presence: ability to engage banking CTOs, CISOs, and architects, translate between technical and executive audiences, and push back on threat models with substance
