📋 Description

• As a Principal Frontend Engineer at ClickUp, you will define and drive the long-term technical vision for frontend engineering across the organization, ensuring architectural decisions support scalability, performance, and rapid innovation in a high-growth environment.
• You will lead the design and evolution of frontend systems using Angular 2+, React, TypeScript, and state management libraries like NgRx or RxJS, directly impacting how millions of users interact with ClickUp’s converged AI workspace.
• Day to day, you will solve complex cross-team technical challenges involving performance bottlenecks, state management at scale, and developer productivity, while partnering with backend and integrations teams to shape cohesive end-to-end architectures.
• You will raise the bar for engineering quality by establishing testing strategies, promoting maintainable component architecture, and enforcing rigorous standards across frontend teams.
• Through mentorship of senior and staff engineers, you will help shape frontend engineering culture, guide pragmatic technical decisions, and unblock teams facing ambiguous or high-impact problems.
• You will influence product roadmap and organizational strategy through strong technical judgment, partnering closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to align technical execution with business goals.
• By driving technical strategy across multiple product areas, you will ensure ClickUp’s frontend remains adaptable and resilient as the platform evolves with AI-powered features and expanding user demands.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of frontend engineering experience with deep expertise in large-scale web applications
• Expert-level proficiency in Angular 2+, React, TypeScript, RxJS, and state management systems such as NgRx or Redux
• Proven track record of architecting and scaling frontend systems used by large numbers of users
• Strong background in performance optimization, scalable architecture, reusable component design, and testing infrastructure
• Experience driving technical strategy across multiple teams or product areas in fast-moving environments
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and mentor senior engineers
