- • As a Principal Full-Stack Data Scientist in Recommendation Algorithms at Stitch Fix, you will lead the development of outfit completion models that combine client preferences, stylist expertise, and machine learning to inspire personalized and cohesive outfits, directly impacting how millions of clients discover styles they love.
- • You will drive end-to-end model development from research to production, design and implement state-of-the-art deep learning models in PyTorch, mentor fellow data scientists, own experimentation strategies, and partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Design to shape the roadmap for outfit-based experiences.
- • Stitch Fix is redefining retail by blending fashion with machine learning through its Client Experience Algorithms Organization, fostering a culture of ownership where Data Scientists manage the full lifecycle of their work in a data-rich environment that directly influences client discovery and satisfaction.
- • In this role, you will tackle ambiguous, high-impact problems with technical leadership, leverage multi-modal datasets including client behavior and merchandise attributes, and grow your expertise in recommendation systems, causal inference, and production ML systems while advancing your leadership and technical impact.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning models, including deep learning models in frameworks such as PyTorch
- • Strong experience with recommendation systems, ranking, retrieval, embeddings, or generative modeling
- • Demonstrated technical leadership, including mentoring individual contributors, leading projects, or setting modeling direction
- • Comfortable owning ambiguous problem spaces and driving projects from concept to production
- • Deep experience with experimentation and causal inference, with ability to connect model improvements to business outcomes
- • Fluency in SQL and experience working with large-scale datasets
- • Proficiency in Python and experience building production-ready data science systems
- • Effective communicator who can influence cross-functional partners and align teams around a shared vision
