📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end design vision for one of Hotstar’s most critical product pods, leading 8–12 designers across discovery, consumption, and engagement experiences that serve hundreds of millions of monthly active users on mobile, web, and connected-TV.
• • Translate ambitious business goals into a coherent design strategy that balances rapid experimentation with long-term platform evolution, ensuring every release ladders up to measurable gains in retention, watch-time, and subscriber growth.
• • Coach and scale a world-class design team—setting individual OKRs, running weekly design critiques, curating learning paths, and championing psychological safety—so that every designer can deliver award-winning work and accelerate their careers.
• • Partner deeply with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Content to frame problem spaces, scope MVPs, and sequence roadmaps; facilitate joint workshops that turn ambiguous opportunities into clearly defined, testable hypotheses.
• • Drive the adoption of Hotstar’s evolving design system across your pod, collaborating with the central Design-Ops team to extend components, tokens, and patterns that guarantee consistency at scale while still allowing for brand-appropriate innovation.
• • Embed user-research and analytics into every sprint—commission studies, review experiment dashboards, and synthesize behavioral signals—so that design decisions are grounded in real-world evidence rather than opinion or hierarchy.
• • Champion accessibility, inclusion, and localization standards from day one, ensuring that every new feature delights users in tier-2/3 cities, on low-end devices, and for audiences with diverse linguistic and cultural contexts.
• • Pioneer next-generation experiences that leverage AI for hyper-personalized discovery, predictive playback, and immersive interactivity (AR/VR, spatial audio, voice), positioning Hotstar as the definitive destination for the future of entertainment.
• • Represent design at the highest levels of the organization—presenting to the CEO, Board, and global content partners—using compelling storytelling and data-backed narratives to secure investment and evangelize user-centric thinking.
• • Continuously refine design operations: define rituals, tooling, and documentation that reduce cycle time, improve craft quality, and free the team to focus on high-impact creative work rather than process overhead.
• • Contribute to the broader design community by hosting meetups, publishing case studies, and mentoring emerging talent across JioStar, cementing the company’s reputation as the best place to grow a design career in India.
