- • The Principal IT Risk Management Analyst is a senior-level role responsible for leading and overseeing comprehensive IT risk management efforts across the organization, providing strategic guidance on identifying and assessing complex technology risks and developing effective risk management strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and assessing high-impact IT risks such as cybersecurity threats and regulatory gaps, developing and executing risk mitigation strategies, collaborating with IT, cybersecurity, legal, and business units to integrate risk management into operations, preparing risk reports for executives, and providing leadership during IT security incidents.
- • The role is part of Strategic Education Inc., which operates institutions focused on serving working adult learners by improving college affordability, enhancing student engagement, and strengthening workforce readiness, with a mission to enable economic mobility through education.
- • The person in this role can develop strategic leadership expertise, deepen knowledge of IT risk frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS 8, GDPR, FERPA), mentor junior team members, drive continuous improvement in risk methodologies, and gain experience influencing executive decision-making on technology risk and resilience.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, IT Risk Management, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- • 5+ years of experience in IT risk management with strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, frameworks, and regulatory requirements
- • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or PMP are required
- • 3+ years of experience with Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Platforms, and DevSecOps
- • 3+ years of experience with incident response, crisis management, and business continuity planning
