  • • As a Principal Medical Science Liaison at Alcon Inc., you will serve as a trusted scientific expert supporting the Medical Affairs team and Eye Care Professionals across your assigned region, delivering evidence-based insights that advance ophthalmic care and strengthen Alcon’s reputation as a global leader in eye care.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and medical experts to address scientific and clinical challenges, providing up-to-date medical support on Alcon products, leading scientific exchange through presentations and congress participation, supporting Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs) from concept to publication, collecting and analyzing insights from Eye Care Professional (ECP) interactions to inform clinical practice and trial design, and mentoring and training new MSLs and team members to uphold scientific excellence.
  • • You will join Alcon’s Medical Affairs team, a globally recognized organization committed to innovation, scientific rigor, and improving patient outcomes in eye care, where inclusivity, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration are core values.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in ophthalmic therapeutics and devices, enhance your ability to design and interpret clinical evidence, build influential peer-to-peer relationships with leading surgeons and researchers, and contribute directly to Alcon’s scientific strategy and evidence generation efforts, positioning yourself as a key thought leader in the ophthalmology community.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Advanced degree in Ophthalmology or Optometry
  • • Minimum 5 years of experience in ophthalmology or optometry (academia, industry, or clinical practice)
  • • At least 2 years of experience in the ophthalmic device or pharmaceutical industry
  • • Proven experience in an HCP-facing role (>2 years)
  • • Advanced knowledge of eye diseases, ophthalmic surgical procedures, and optometry
  • • Experience with clinical trial design and execution, including post-market research
  • • Strong understanding of evidence-based medicine, regulatory requirements, payer landscape, and biostatistics
  • • Proven ability to build credible peer-to-peer scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
  • • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, excellent communication and presentation skills, high integrity, and a collaborative, proactive mindset with mentoring ability
