📋 Description

• Design autonomous, end-to-end product experiences for Smarkets’ prediction markets, defining direction without predefined roadmaps or specs.
• Create simple, elegant interfaces that make complex financial and betting data accessible, intuitive, and engaging across sports, politics, technology, and current events.
• Lead design from concept to shipping, including wireframing, prototyping, user flows, and high-fidelity UI, with meticulous attention to detail and visual craft.
• Rapidly prototype using Figma, Cursor, v0, and light code to test assumptions, validate ideas, and refine interfaces based on real user feedback.
• Conduct user research through interviews, guerrilla testing, and workshops to extract behavioral patterns and inform product strategy.
• Redefine and scale the company’s design system to ensure cohesion and consistency across both products as they grow.
• Collaborate closely with executives, product managers, and engineering teams to align design decisions with business goals and technical feasibility.
• Act as a design leader and force-multiplier by modeling best practices in process, communication, and collaboration across the organization.
• Maintain a clean visual aesthetic with mastery of typography, grids, spacing, and interaction design principles.
• Translate deep understanding of human behavior and UX principles into functional, delightful product experiences.
• Articulate design logic clearly through presentations, documentation, and cross-functional discussions to gain alignment and drive decisions.
• Understand and account for the technical implications of design choices when working with engineering teams.
• Champion a customer-first philosophy by ensuring every design decision prioritizes user needs and clarity over complexity.
• Continuously raise the quality bar for design output, pushing for excellence in both function and form.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation by bringing energy, curiosity, and ownership to every project and team interaction.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years designing consumer products, ideally at early-stage companies
• Portfolio demonstrating systemic thinking and attention to detail
• Expertise in iOS, Android, and web design
• Strong visual/interaction skills and fluency in Figma and AI-coding tools (Cursor, v0, etc.)
• Clear, thoughtful communication skills for sharing work, making cases, and presenting to stakeholders
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to navigate ambiguity
