  • • Adyen is seeking a Principal Product Manager, Banking (US) to spearhead the evolution and expansion of its North American banking strategy. This pivotal role is responsible for the comprehensive product vision, strategic direction, and execution of Adyen’s US banking capabilities, operating at the nexus of payments, money movement, platform services, and embedded finance.
  • • Adyen has already established a robust foundation for its banking operations, including securing necessary banking licenses, obtaining regulatory approvals, and integrating with critical local clearing systems such as ACH, RTP, and FedNow. The current imperative is to drive differentiation and innovation, defining how Adyen can achieve market leadership in embedded and enterprise banking across the United States.
  • • This is a senior individual contributor position, requiring the ability to drive significant outcomes through collaboration with a globally distributed team encompassing Product, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Go-To-Market partners.
  • • **Set Vision & Strategy:** Define and champion the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for Adyen’s US banking products. This strategy must be deeply rooted in delivering tangible customer value, achieving measurable business impact, and fostering responsible, sustainable growth.
  • • Translate identified market opportunities into actionable priorities, detailed roadmaps, and clearly defined success metrics, catering to diverse customer segments and industry verticals.
  • • Identify and articulate unique, differentiated use cases that strategically position Adyen as the preferred financial partner for both enterprise platforms and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
  • • **Scale Banking as a Platform:** Lead the ongoing development and expansion of Adyen Accounts within the US market, serving both embedded and enterprise customer needs, alongside enhancing money movement capabilities.
  • • Strategize and define how banking services can be seamlessly integrated into Adyen’s existing Payments, Capital, and Issuing products, creating cohesive and efficient financial workflows for customers.
  • • Drive significant increases in product adoption and attach rates across the enterprise and platform customer base.
  • • **Build for Scale & Regulatory Rigor:** Ensure that all product decisions are carefully balanced to optimize for speed of delivery, operational reliability, strict compliance with regulations, and effective monetization strategies.
  • • Foster close partnerships with Compliance, Risk, and Finance teams to proactively navigate and address regulatory dependencies that are critical for the growth of Adyen’s US banking operations.
  • • Design and implement product capabilities that are inherently scalable, easily auditable, and resilient, meeting the stringent requirements of a highly regulated financial environment.
  • • **Lead Through Influence:** Act as the primary product authority for US banking initiatives, effectively communicating the product strategy both internally to stakeholders and externally in strategic discussions with key customers.
  • • Cultivate cross-functional alignment and drive progress across Engineering, Commercial, Risk, and Operations teams, even in the absence of direct reporting lines.
  • • Consistently elevate the standards for product clarity, prioritization discipline, and strategic thinking within the broader Financial Products organization.
  • • **What Success Looks Like (First 12-18 Months):** Within the first 12 to 18 months, success will be measured by defining and securing alignment on a differentiated 1-3 year US banking strategy that is fully integrated with Adyen’s global Financial Products vision. You will launch high-impact product capabilities that demonstrably accelerate customer adoption and improve key activation metrics. A significant increase in product attach rates across Payments, Capital, Issuing, and Accounts will be expected. You will establish clear, actionable visibility into the performance metrics driving US banking growth and monetization. Furthermore, you will have strengthened the rigor of cross-functional execution and enhanced strategic alignment across the entire US organization.
