- • As a Principal Software Architect at iRhythm Technologies, you will define and lead the software architecture vision across the company’s medical and non-medical digital ecosystem, ensuring secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant systems that align with long-term business goals and improve cardiac health outcomes for patients worldwide.
- • You will drive technology strategy and systems coherence across R&D, product, clinical, data science, and IT, influencing senior stakeholders while maintaining deep technical credibility in cloud services, analytics platforms, data pipelines, AI/ML enablement, and patient-facing applications.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include defining multi-year architecture strategy for all off-device software systems, establishing architectural principles and guardrails for reliability and compliance, evaluating emerging technologies for adoption, and ensuring holistic systems thinking across clinical workflows, device interactions, and data flows.
- • You will lead cross-functional architecture forums and governance processes, drive architectural clarity early in product development through API strategies and data modeling, review high-impact technical proposals, and champion engineering quality standards for observability, testing, and documentation.
- • You will partner with product management to translate business needs into technical roadmaps, collaborate with security and regulatory teams to meet medical device standards, serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on architectural trade-offs, and bridge off-device and on-device systems to ensure end-to-end workflow integrity.
- • You will provide architectural oversight throughout the SDLC, drive standardization to reduce duplication and accelerate development velocity, mentor engineering leads through coaching and technical review, and lead investigations into complex systemic issues involving scalability, reliability, or data workflows.
- • You will operate as a senior individual contributor influencing executive teams without direct authority, communicating complex technical concepts in clear, business-relevant terms, and demonstrating success in partnering with cross-functional leaders across product, quality, regulatory, data science, and infrastructure.
- • iRhythm is a mission-driven digital healthcare company creating trusted solutions that detect, predict, and prevent disease by combining wearable biosensors, cloud-based analytics, and proprietary algorithms to turn millions of heartbeats into clinically actionable insights, with a vision to deliver better data, better insights, and better health for all.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of cardiac health technology at scale, leave a lasting impact on patient outcomes, and grow your career as a technical leader in a purpose-driven, innovative organization that values curiosity, collaboration, and putting patients first.

- • Proven experience architecting regulated or high-reliability systems, preferably within medical, health tech, or similar domains.
- • Mastery of architectural domains including microservices, event-driven systems, data pipelines, observability, DevOps/SRE practices, and cloud-native technologies.
- • Ability to operate as a senior-level individual contributor influencing executive teams without direct authority.
- • Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts in clear, concise, and business-relevant terms.
- • Demonstrated success partnering with cross-functional leaders across product, security, quality, regulatory, data science, and infrastructure.

- • Meaningful impact on patient health through innovative cardiac monitoring solutions used by millions worldwide.
- • Access to cutting-edge technology projects involving AI/ML platforms, cloud-native architectures, and regulated medical software systems.
