📋 Description

• Lead the design and evolution of critical, large-scale systems and platform architectures that form the long-term technical foundation of Kaseya’s AI-powered IT management and cybersecurity platform.
• Define and drive company-wide adoption of AI-assisted development practices and AI-enabled system capabilities, identifying transformational leverage points that enhance engineering effectiveness, product innovation, and business outcomes.
• Establish and enforce architectural principles, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability across all engineering teams and systems.
• Align long-term engineering strategy with multi-year product goals and business objectives, influencing executive, product, and engineering leadership on technical direction and strategic priorities.
• Drive cross-organizational alignment on cohesive system design and execution across multiple teams, domains, and business units operating in highly ambiguous and complex environments.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate systemic technical risks across the organization, including legacy system dependencies, architectural debt, and operational fragility.
• Define and lead the company-wide strategy for resolving technical debt, including establishing architectural investment roadmaps, prioritizing re-platforming initiatives, and driving organizational alignment on modernization efforts.
• Advance system reliability, scalability, and performance through improvements in architecture, observability, and operational maturity at company scale.
• Develop and promote platform capabilities, shared services, and reusable architectural patterns that increase engineering productivity and system consistency across teams.
• Mentor senior, staff, and senior staff engineers to enable organizations to operate more effectively and independently, acting as a force multiplier for engineering excellence.
• Promote a culture of engineering excellence by setting and reinforcing high standards for system design, code quality, and operational practices.
• Contribute to technical due diligence and evaluation of strategic initiatives, architectural investments, and external partnerships.
• Design, deploy, and operate production systems on public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with deep expertise in cloud-native services across compute, storage, networking, and managed data.
• Apply deep knowledge of cloud architecture patterns, cost optimization at scale, and security best practices to guide infrastructure decisions.
• Engage deeply in full-stack and API development across frontend and backend layers, providing technical review and implementation guidance across the entire stack.
• Maintain and evolve large-scale production systems using containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, Bicep), and CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and progressive deployment strategies.
• Implement modern security patterns including secure coding standards, threat modeling, vulnerability remediation, and security architecture across the organization.
• Apply deep familiarity with relational and non-relational data stores to inform platform-scale design decisions.
• Define and advance observability standards including structured logging, metrics collection, distributed tracing, and alerting to improve operational excellence.
• Influence technical direction without direct authority by building consensus among distributed teams and aligning stakeholders on complex, multi-year architectural initiatives.

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience with a demonstrated track record of defining and driving technical strategy at an organizational or company-wide level
• Deep experience designing and evolving large-scale, distributed systems and platform architectures with multi-year architectural impact
• Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating production systems on public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proven ability to operate in highly ambiguous environments and drive alignment across multiple organizations without direct authority
• Experience leading company-wide adoption of AI-assisted development practices and connecting AI capabilities to engineering and business outcomes
