📋 Description

• Architect and implement backend systems that abstract infrastructure complexity to enable self-service capabilities for internal engineering teams.
• Own the development and support of internal tooling, APIs, and automation frameworks used across Ticketmaster’s 13-team infrastructure organization.
• Design and deliver a self-service Kubernetes platform with UI, CLI, and API interfaces for managing namespaces, network policies, and deployments across on-prem and cloud clusters.
• Build infrastructure inventory and CRUD APIs to provide programmatic access to infrastructure state across hybrid Kubernetes environments.
• Develop deployment standardization tooling including ring promotion, automated change management, and progressive rollout systems to improve release reliability.
• Integrate internal developer portals with service catalogs, team intelligence dashboards, and operational visibility tools to enhance developer experience.
• Implement LLM-assisted governance tooling to automate merge request reviews against infrastructure standards and compliance policies.
• Drive enhancements to CI/CD pipelines using GitLab with a focus on security, repeatability, and observability.
• Define scalable backend architectures and patterns that span multiple infrastructure domains, documented through system diagrams and design proposals.
• Leverage Kubernetes, Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible to create reusable infrastructure-as-code components and automation services.
• Apply SRE principles and metrics-driven approaches to software reliability using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Mentor lead and senior engineers, fostering a culture of strong backend engineering, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align platform modernization initiatives with long-term infrastructure strategy.
• Serve as the technical authority for the infrastructure organization, reviewing cross-team technical proposals and guiding best practices.
• Maintain full ownership of systems built — including routine on-call responsibilities for critical services — with emphasis on building reliability and availability from the start.
• Work autonomously within an Agile (SAFe) environment, owning technical execution while management ensures strategic alignment.
• Prioritize simplicity, usability, and reduction of complexity for infrastructure consumers, avoiding throwaway proofs-of-concept in favor of shipped, adopted solutions.
• Write production-grade code regularly in Go or Python, ensuring code is maintainable, testable, and observable.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, operators, and technical leadership to drive adoption of platform tools and standards.
• Uphold high standards of security, reliability, and code quality across all delivered systems.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a backend or platform software engineer focused on infrastructure automation or developer tooling
• Strong programming proficiency in Go or Python, with regular hands-on code development
• Experience designing internal APIs, automation frameworks, or infrastructure control planes
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible)
• Understanding of SRE principles and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship
