📋 Description

  • As a Principal Solution Architect - Collaboration (Education) at CDW Corporation, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and field-based pre-sales expert, driving the design and delivery of comprehensive collaboration solutions for education sector customers. Your role is critical in helping institutions modernize their communication and collaboration infrastructure to support hybrid learning, faculty engagement, and student success through strategic technology alignment.
  • You will develop tailored assessment and service solutions including collaboration architecture design, platform optimization, technology health checks, deployment and adoption services, and advisory engagements—ensuring each solution aligns with the customer’s long-term educational goals and operational outcomes.
  • Collaborating closely with customers, internal sales teams, and delivery specialists, you will provide consultative guidance, co-create sales strategies, and author detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) that translate technical capabilities into measurable business value for K–12 schools, colleges, and universities.
  • By analyzing technical requirements and competitive landscapes, you will uncover customer needs, define solution pathways, and craft collaboration architectures using platforms like Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Zoom, and Avaya that directly support teaching, learning, and administrative efficiency.
  • You will maintain and grow strategic relationships with education customers, internal stakeholders, and vendor partners, positioning yourself as a go-to expert who influences decision-making and drives expansion of CDW’s collaboration services footprint in the education market.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert, you will contribute to CDW’s marketing-approved thought leadership by creating LinkedIn content, blog posts, and online publications that showcase best practices in education-focused collaboration technology.
  • You will drive technical enablement initiatives, coach and mentor fellow Solution Architects, Solution Executives, and Field Sellers, elevating team capability in collaboration solution design, customer engagement, and value-based selling.
  • Through mentoring and knowledge sharing, you will help build a culture of excellence where peers are equipped to engage confidently with educators and IT leaders on complex collaboration challenges.

🎯 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in technical pre-sales, post-sale delivery, or solution architecture roles
  • Proven experience designing and architecting collaboration solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Zoom, Avaya, and related ecosystems
  • Familiarity with identity, security, networking, and cloud services as they apply to collaboration platforms
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric mindset
  • Ability to work independently, lead technical discussions, and influence cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed to engage with customers and partners

  • Competitive base salary range of $145,600 - $211,870, based on experience and skill set
