  • • As a Strategic Account Manager (Corporate & Public) - National at Alcon Inc., you will serve as a subject matter expert in the UK healthcare market, driving commercial execution through value-based healthcare approaches to improve patient outcomes and influence health-system policies across England.
  • • You will map corporate and public accounts, analyze commissioning funding flows, and understand decision-making processes to develop and implement localized business plans that align with Alcon’s strategic goals and market access objectives.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include engaging with senior C-suite and clinical stakeholders at ICB and NHS levels to build trusted relationships, represent Alcon’s value proposition, and lead partnership activities that demonstrate the company’s commitment to value-based care.
  • • You will leverage customer insights to anticipate market shifts, align surgical brand strategy with evolving priorities such as GIRFT, RCOphth Guidelines, IHPN, and procurement landscapes, ensuring Alcon’s offerings remain competitive and relevant.
  • • You will develop and execute integrated engagement strategies for Alcon’s surgical portfolio across key strategic accounts, collaborating with internal account teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and maximize benefit realization from commercial value offerings.
  • • You will provide subject matter expertise to support Salesforce teams in high-stakes stakeholder meetings, translating complex market and clinical data into compelling, actionable narratives that drive adoption and preference.
  • • You will differentiate Alcon’s technologies from competitors by articulating feature, benefit, and value-based advantages, overcoming objections, and securing adoption across existing and prospective customers in private, public, and group purchasing environments.
  • • You will achieve and exceed sales and profit targets by increasing demand and market share through strategic contracting, negotiation, and implementation of tailored commercial models with corporate groups, GPOs, tender opportunities, and private/public hospitals.
  • • You will lead the full lifecycle of corporate account contracts — from strategy and design to financial analysis, legal review, negotiation, execution, implementation, and ROI performance measurement — working closely with legal, regional, and country management teams.
  • • You will partner with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to align national strategy with regional execution, ensuring corporate stakeholder needs are met and targets are consistently achieved through coordinated planning and accountability.
  • • You will operate with autonomy and leadership in ambiguous environments, shaping your role through initiative, accountability, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority to drive project execution and commercial success.
  • • You will contribute to Alcon’s mission of enhancing sight by turning customer challenges into tangible benefits through innovative portfolio applications and new commercial modeling, directly impacting patient and health-system outcomes.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education, science, business, or equivalent experience
  • • Minimum 3 years of experience in the med tech or healthcare industry
  • • Proven customer-facing experience engaging senior NHS or corporate stakeholders (e.g., Heads of Procurement, COOs, Business Managers)
  • • Experience with budget impact models and demonstrating value concepts in healthcare settings
  • • Ability to work and lead effectively during periods of ambiguity and change
