- • The Prior Authorization Specialist at Alpaca Health Inc. plays a critical role in enabling clinicians to launch and scale autism care clinics by managing the complex prior authorization process, ensuring timely access to care for patients.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include owning the authorization process for complex cases with expertise in TRICARE (including ECHO enrollment and prior auth workflows), managing escalations from the vendor Silna, chasing down documentation, resolving auth rejections, navigating payer requirements, communicating with families, BCBAs, referring physicians, and internal teams, setting expectations around timelines and documentation, partnering with billing and insurance ops to resolve issues, identifying bottlenecks in the intake workflow, owning process improvements from identification to implementation, and maintaining accurate tracking and reporting across systems.
