- • Lead a small team responsible for risk management and compliance functions within the organization, setting strategic priorities and guiding day-to-day execution.
- • Design, implement, and maintain frameworks and processes that ensure the protection of client data, organizational operations, and software integrity in alignment with evolving regulatory standards.
- • Work cross-functionally across security, privacy, and operations teams to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and close compliance gaps in software systems and business practices.
- • Ensure that the company’s SaaS platform consistently meets the high standards of data integrity and trust required by clients in regulated industries.
- • Stay hands-on with compliance activities, including documentation, audits, policy reviews, and control testing, while also providing leadership and mentorship to team members.
- • Drive the evolution of the compliance function by building new systems and processes where none currently exist, and improving existing ones to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- • Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams to embed compliance requirements into product development lifecycles and client-facing workflows.
- • Monitor changes in global and regional regulatory landscapes (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, industry-specific standards) and translate them into actionable internal policies and controls.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, regulatory inquiries, and client compliance validations.
- • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, risk assessments, and control implementations to support transparency and accountability.
- • Advocate for a culture of compliance and risk awareness across the organization through training, communication, and proactive engagement with stakeholders.
- • Balance strategic oversight with tactical execution, ensuring that compliance initiatives are both scalable and aligned with business growth objectives.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s safety, learning, and compliance software by providing feedback based on real-world regulatory and operational challenges.
- • Represent the organization in external compliance discussions, industry forums, or client-facing compliance reviews as needed.
- • Maintain a deep understanding of the SaaS product’s architecture and data flows to effectively assess privacy and security risks from a technical and operational perspective.
- • Ensure all compliance activities are documented, traceable, and defensible under regulatory scrutiny.
- • Proactively anticipate emerging risks in data privacy and regulatory compliance and recommend preemptive measures to mitigate them.
- • Foster collaboration between legal, IT, and operations teams to align compliance goals with technical capabilities and business priorities.
