- • As a Private Equity Coach at Leland Technologies Inc., you will play a pivotal role in democratizing access to elite career guidance by mentoring aspiring professionals seeking to break into the highly competitive private equity industry. Your expertise will directly empower students and early-career candidates to navigate complex recruiting processes, build competitive profiles, and gain the confidence needed to succeed in top-tier PE firms—thereby advancing Leland’s mission to unlock human potential through accessible, world-class expertise.
- • You will conduct one-on-one virtual coaching sessions focused on private equity career preparation, including resume and cover letter reviews tailored to PE industry standards, behavioral interview coaching using STAR methodology, and technical interview prep covering LBO modeling, valuation techniques, deal structuring, and firm-specific knowledge.
- • You will provide strategic guidance on networking within the private equity ecosystem, including how to approach informational interviews, leverage alumni connections, and target firms aligned with candidates’ backgrounds and goals, drawing from your own experience in recruiting or hiring at leading PE firms.
- • You will develop and share customized resources such as case study frameworks, technical question banks, and firm-specific interview guides, ensuring mentees receive actionable, up-to-date insights reflective of current industry expectations.
- • You will collaborate with Leland’s coaching team and product specialists to refine coaching methodologies, contribute to content development (e.g., short-form videos, written guides), and participate in feedback loops that enhance the overall quality and scalability of the coaching experience.
- • You will maintain a flexible, self-directed schedule, setting your own availability and session rates while upholding Leland’s standards for professionalism, punctuality, and session quality, with support from our team for scheduling, payments, and client matching.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience working in private equity at a top-tier firm (e.g., mega-fund, upper middle-market, or specialist PE shop) with direct involvement in recruiting, interviewing, or hiring candidates for associate or analyst roles.
- • Demonstrated ability to break down complex private equity concepts—such as LBO modeling, IRR/MOIC calculations, credit analysis, and value creation levers—into clear, teachable components for learners at varying levels of experience.
- • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of providing constructive, actionable feedback in high-stakes environments such as interview preparation or performance reviews.
