- • Lead and facilitate process hazard analyses (PHAs), risk assessments, and hazard reviews for capital projects and targeted manufacturing processes to identify and mitigate operational and project-related hazards.
- • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve process safety standards, procedures, and best practices aligned with corporate objectives and the Engineering Process Safety Roadmap.
- • Ensure process safety management systems comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate expectations across global manufacturing operations.
- • Provide technical process safety expertise to capital project teams during design, development, and execution phases, including review of engineering designs and project documentation for compliance.
- • Support Management of Change (MOC) activities related to capital projects and process modifications to ensure safety integrity is maintained.
- • Partner with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) teams to plan and conduct process safety audits and assessments, evaluating adherence to internal standards and regulatory frameworks.
- • Track and drive closure of corrective actions identified during audits, hazard reviews, and risk assessments to ensure continuous improvement in safety performance.
- • Deliver process safety training and awareness programs to capital project teams, operations personnel, and other stakeholders to foster a strong process safety culture.
- • Support competency development initiatives focused on process safety management principles, risk assessment methodologies, and functional safety practices.
- • Administer, maintain, and upgrade hazard review and risk assessment software systems, including ARA software, ensuring accurate data collection, reporting, and system enhancements.
- • Analyze process safety data to identify trends, drive system improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing sites.
- • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and EHS teams to integrate process safety principles into business processes and capital project workflows.
- • Apply knowledge of Chemical manufacturing processes, plant operations, Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations to guide decision-making.
- • Travel 20-30% to manufacturing facilities and project sites to conduct assessments, provide on-site support, and ensure consistent implementation of safety standards.
- • Maintain up-to-date understanding of evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices in process safety to ensure organizational compliance and leadership.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related technical discipline
- • Minimum of 10 years of process safety experience within a manufacturing environment
- • Demonstrated experience supporting capital projects, process hazard analysis, and process safety management systems
- • Demonstrated knowledge of Chemical manufacturing processes, plant operations, Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, risk management methodologies, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and regulations
- • Ability to travel 20-30%
- • Working knowledge or experience with Functional Safety
