đź“‹ Description
- • As a part-time Procurement Expert at SpendHound (a YipitData company), you will serve as the core intelligence engine behind our Premiere Negotiation Strategy service, directly engaging software vendors to uncover critical pricing, contract, and negotiation insights that empower our clients to secure better enterprise software deals—making your work a strategic lever in reducing SaaS spend and improving procurement outcomes for high-growth businesses.
- • You will drive the vendor intelligence lifecycle by conducting bespoke outreach for urgent client requests, proactively building and refreshing our vendor primary research (VPR) database on top enterprise SaaS platforms, and ensuring data accuracy through annual refresh cycles—turning raw vendor conversations into structured, actionable intelligence that fuels our AI-enhanced negotiation prep packets and advisory offerings.
- • You will operate within a mission-driven, remote-first team at SpendHound, backed by YipitData’s $1B+ valuation and deep expertise in disruptive economy analytics, where your contributions directly support a free-to-use platform that helps companies optimize software renewals while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and ethical research practices.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise SaaS pricing models, contract structures, and vendor negotiation tactics across categories like CRM, collaboration, design, and ITSM tools; refine your consultative interviewing and research synthesis skills; and build a trusted network of subject matter experts—positioning yourself as a go-to specialist in SaaS procurement intelligence with tangible impact on real-world cost savings.
- • Bespoke VPR Outreach: Engage software vendors on an ad-hoc basis in response to premium negotiation requests where no existing primary research exists, conducting professional interviews to extract pricing benchmarks, discount structures, renewal timelines, and hidden contract clauses that inform negotiation strategy.
- • Proactive VPR Buildout: Systematically work through a prioritized list of high-demand enterprise software vendors (e.g., HubSpot, Zendesk, Figma, Salesforce, Atlassian) based on customer demand and spend volume, gathering and validating intelligence to expand our proprietary vendor knowledge base.
- • Existing VPR Refresh: Conduct annual refreshes of previously collected vendor intelligence to ensure data remains accurate, relevant, and reflective of current market dynamics, including pricing shifts, product changes, and evolving vendor incentives.
- • Ride-Along Relationship Management: Recruit, onboard, and manage a network of subject matter experts (SMEs) who participate in vendor engagements on a ride-along basis; oversee all administrative aspects including scheduling, billing, payment processing, and tax documentation compliance.
- • Negotiation Prep Packets: When AI/LLM tools cannot fully process complex or unstructured data sources (e.g., dense contracts, PDFs, call transcripts), manually compile, organize, and structure negotiation preparation packets for our advisory team, ensuring clarity, completeness, and actionability for end-users.
- • Maintain rigorous documentation standards: Capture vendor insights in standardized formats, tag insights by category and use case, and ensure all research outputs are audit-ready, traceable, and aligned with SpendHound’s quality and compliance frameworks.
- • Collaborate asynchronously with the core SpendHound team via Slack, Notion, and shared research repositories to align on priorities, share findings, and contribute to continuous improvement of our vendor intelligence methodology.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience in SaaS sales, procurement, vendor management, or contract negotiations at a high-growth SaaS, procurement tech, or B2B company.
- • Proven track record in software sales, renewals, or contract negotiations—either on the buy side (procurement/buyer) or sell side (vendor/sales).
- • Familiarity with common enterprise software categories and vendors, including HubSpot, Zendesk, Figma, Salesforce, Atlassian, Zoom, or similar platforms.
- • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to conduct professional vendor interviews and produce clear, structured research outputs.
- • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple concurrent research threads with strong follow-through.
- • Strong analytical skills to interpret contract nuances, pricing models, renewal terms, and vendor incentives to extract meaningful negotiation intelligence.
- • Self-starter mindset: able to work autonomously, manage your own schedule, and thrive in a flexible, part-time remote environment.
- • Demonstrated SaaS acumen and genuine enthusiasm for understanding vendor landscapes, pricing dynamics, and procurement strategies.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote position based in Colombia, offering flexibility to work from anywhere with reliable internet.
- • Part-time schedule designed for work-life balance, allowing you to manage personal commitments while contributing meaningfully to a high-impact mission.
- • Opportunity to work with YipitData-backed SpendHound, a rapidly growing platform valued at over $1B, backed by The Carlyle Group.
- • Exposure to cutting-edge enterprise SaaS procurement intelligence and negotiation strategy at the intersection of data, AI, and human expertise.
- • Build a professional network of subject matter experts (SMEs) and deepen your expertise in vendor research and competitive intelligence.
- • Contribute to a 100% free platform that helps companies save millions in software spend annually, promoting fairness and transparency in enterprise procurement.
