- • Lead, coach, and develop the Operational and Strategic Procurement Team to ensure effective collaboration and continuous performance improvement.
- • Plan, manage, and continuously optimize material flows and inventory levels to ensure high supply reliability and availability.
- • Qualify new suppliers, develop existing supplier relationships, and prepare and execute supplier negotiations in close cooperation with the team.
- • Identify cost-saving opportunities and initiate measures to reduce complexity, including make-or-buy decisions and outsourcing initiatives.
- • Standardize procurement processes and tools in alignment with corporate guidelines and drive the digitalization of procurement within the SAP landscape, including contract standardization and expansion of framework agreements.
- • Define and further develop the procurement strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders, optimize sourcing concepts, and establish efficient standards to improve operational procurement processes.
- • Assess international procurement markets, identify new sourcing opportunities and suppliers, and build stable, resilient supply chains.
- • Analyze and refine purchasing and supplier strategies to enhance efficiency and risk mitigation.
- • Foster cross-functional collaboration and ensure effective interface management across departments to maintain strong internal alignment.
- • Apply expertise in mechanical or plant engineering procurement environments to support Barry-Wehmiller’s global operations in packaging, corrugated, and paper processing industries.
- • Utilize SAP and common procurement tools to manage sourcing activities, supplier data, and contract lifecycle processes.
- • Communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken, to coordinate with global teams and stakeholders.
- • Operate effectively within a complex matrix organization with partially decentralized teams and indirect leadership responsibilities.
- • Contribute to the company’s mission of Building a Better World through Business by ensuring reliable, sustainable, and cost-efficient procurement practices.
🎯 Requirements
- • Successfully completed degree in Business Administration and/or Engineering, ideally as an Industrial Engineer, or solid professional experience based on vocational training as an Industrial Clerk or comparable technical qualification
- • At least 5 years of leadership experience in operational procurement, ideally also in strategic procurement, preferably in mechanical or plant engineering
- • Proven experience in leading and developing large, partially decentralized teams, including indirect leadership
- • Strong experience in working within complex matrix organizations
- • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
- • Very good knowledge of MS Office, SAP, and common procurement tools
