• • We are seeking a proactive and driven Procurement Manager to lead the acquisition of Substation Owner Furnished–Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment across North America. This pivotal role involves meticulous recordkeeping, maintaining and refining product specifications, cultivating strong supplier relationships, ensuring specification compliance, and diligently managing purchase orders.
• • The Procurement Manager will be instrumental in obtaining vendor submittals, preparing comprehensive status and tracking reports for internal stakeholders, and coordinating crucial factory witness tests and audits in collaboration with engineering teams and external consultants. A key responsibility is ensuring the timely delivery and successful commissioning of substation equipment, directly contributing to the seamless execution of our large-scale infrastructure projects.
• • This role demands regular and effective collaboration with a diverse range of supply chain partners and internal departments, including Energy, Engineering, Operations, and Legal, as well as multiple Construction Management teams. The ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and foster strong working relationships is paramount.
• • To effectively fulfill the duties of this role, the Procurement Manager will be required to travel to various manufacturing facilities for factory witness testing, supplier audits, and new vendor onboarding. Occasional travel to Vantage Data Center sites may also be necessary, underscoring the hands-on nature of this position.
• • Strategic Procurement & Sourcing:
• • Develop, implement, and execute sophisticated procurement strategies specifically tailored for power substation OFCI equipment. These strategies must align seamlessly with project requirements, stringent cost targets, robust risk management frameworks, and the overarching business objectives of Vantage Data Centers.
• • Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle with precision and foresight. This encompasses the entire journey from the initial Request for Proposal (RFP) development, through meticulous bid evaluation, contract award, and execution, to manufacturing oversight, rigorous testing, successful delivery, final commissioning, and comprehensive project closeout.
• • Proactively identify and implement innovative processes and cutting-edge tools designed to enhance scalability, boost operational efficiency, ensure unwavering compliance, and provide robust support for the company's sustained business growth and expansion.
• • Continuously monitor and analyze evolving industry trends, emerging technologies, dynamic market shifts, and advancements in supplier innovation. This vigilance is crucial for informing and refining sourcing strategies, identifying significant cost-saving opportunities, and proactively mitigating potential supply chain risks before they impact operations.
• • Vendor & Supplier Management:
• • Act as the primary and most trusted liaison between our valued supply chain partners and critical internal stakeholders. This involves clear, consistent, and timely communication regarding changes in product lead-times, cost fluctuations, and any other factors impacting the supply chain.
• • Establish, nurture, and sustain strategic, long-term relationships with key suppliers. The focus will be on ensuring deep alignment regarding quality standards, delivery commitments, and shared long-term partnership objectives that benefit all parties.
• • Lead and conduct comprehensive contract negotiations to secure highly competitive commercial terms, effectively mitigate contractual and operational risks, and drive maximum value for Vantage Data Centers.
• • Develop, implement, and oversee a robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program. This program will concentrate on rigorous performance monitoring, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and encouraging supplier-led innovation.
• • Strategically optimize and meticulously manage the supply base. This ensures that supplier capabilities, production capacity, and cost structures are consistently aligned with Vantage’s long-term operational needs and strategic growth goals.
• • Conduct regular, structured progress calls with vendors, meticulously document meeting minutes, and diligently track all action items and deliverables to ensure timely and effective follow-through, maintaining project momentum.
• • Operational & Financial Efficiency:
• • Drive cost-effective procurement practices while ensuring the on-time delivery of all essential equipment and materials. This is critical for supporting project schedules and achieving budget objectives without compromise.
• • Provide essential support to the Finance and Accounting teams by promptly resolving invoicing discrepancies, delivering crucial inputs for cash-flow forecasting, and actively assisting with detailed project budget reconciliation.
• • Systematically capture and effectively communicate lessons learned from procurement activities. This promotes a cycle of continuous improvement across all procurement processes, supplier management practices, and cross-functional collaboration efforts.
• • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• • Work in close partnership with the Energy, Engineering, New Site Development, and Construction teams to collaboratively develop strategic sourcing strategies and ensure the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
• • Actively support change management initiatives and contribute to product optimization efforts, ensuring procurement aligns with evolving business needs.
• • Foster and promote a highly collaborative and supportive environment across all teams to achieve shared organizational goals and objectives.
• • Risk Management & Compliance:
• • Ensure absolute adherence and full compliance with all applicable laws, governmental regulations, industry standards, and internal company policies and procedures.
• • Oversee the rigorous supplier qualification and requalification processes, essential for maintaining an up-to-date and approved supplier status.
• • Conduct thorough risk assessments of the supply chain and provide actionable recommendations for mitigation and improvement.
• • Proactively identify and implement strategies to mitigate potential supply chain risks, safeguarding project timelines and company resources.
