- • The Product Builder role at BioRender Inc. is designed for scientists and researchers who have been building tools on the side and are ready to transition to full-time product development, leveraging their deep domain expertise to solve real problems in scientific workflows.
- • Day to day, the Product Builder will own discovery for their product area by identifying unmet needs through user insights, prototype new features and ideas using AI-assisted tools like Claude or Cursor, and ship functional products that real users can interact with, turning concepts into tangible solutions.
- • BioRender is a mission-driven company focused on empowering scientists with better visual communication tools, and this role sits at the intersection of scientific research and product innovation, where domain knowledge is valued as much as technical curiosity.
- • In this role, you will learn to rapidly prototype and ship AI-assisted product ideas, deepen your understanding of user-centered product development, and build a portfolio of real-world tools that address genuine pain points in scientific workflows — all while collaborating with a team that values scrappiness, experimentation, and impact.
🎯 Requirements
- • A background in biology, life sciences, or a related research field
- • Genuine familiarity with BioRender — you've used it, you have opinions about it
- • Comfort with AI coding tools — you don't need to be a software expert but you’ve built a product that people use and spend your free time tinkering in Claude code and have collaborated with others via Github
- • Something you've built: a script, a tool, a side project, a vibe-coded experiment that actually worked
- • Curiosity, scrappiness, and the ability to move from idea to prototype quickly
