Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As Product Counsel at Tremendous Inc., you will own day-to-day product and regulatory counseling for key parts of the U.S.-focused payouts platform, partnering with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Ops from early design through launch to provide clear, actionable guidance.
- • You will translate U.S. payments and consumer-protection requirements into pragmatic product guardrails, customer-facing terms and disclosures, and durable internal guidance, helping shape how the company builds and ships in a regulated space.
- • You will be a core driver of the contracting engine by negotiating and drafting customer agreements and related terms, working with the commercial attorney to maintain fast cycle times and consistent standards as Sales expands.
- • You will create leverage by turning repeat legal questions into playbooks, checklists, and templates, enabling teams to move quickly without reinventing decisions, and pitch in as a generalist on high-priority matters in a small, high-impact legal team.
- • Tremendous is a profitable, growing, fully remote company trusted by 20,000 organizations to send payouts globally, with a high-documentation, low-meeting culture and an employee NPS in the high 80s, offering autonomy and meaningful impact.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4–6 years of experience practicing law, with a mix of law firm and in-house experience preferred, including at least some in-house time at a tech or fintech company.
- • A real foundation in U.S. financial regulatory issues relevant to payments or money movement (e.g., consumer protection, payment rails, partner-bank/processor models), with judgment on when to dig in versus pull in specialists.
- • Strong product-counseling instincts: ability to turn ambiguity into practical recommendations and help teams make tradeoffs.
- • Solid drafting and negotiation skills, including handling a steady stream of agreements without letting perfection block progress.
- • Clear written communication (memos, decision docs, guidance) and ability to build trust cross-functionally in a remote environment.
- • J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive pay and equity with a base salary range of $180k to $275k.
- • Real benefits including 100% covered health insurance (US), unlimited PTO, and 12–16 weeks of paid parental leave.
- • Fully remote work from anywhere in the Americas, with a culture built for autonomy, few meetings, and high documentation.
- • Meaningful ownership in a small, high-impact Legal team where you’ll help shape product development, scaling of contracting, and regulatory risk management.
- • Access to a public handbook detailing how the company works, supporting transparency and alignment.
