- • Design product concepts that balance vision, craft, speed, and business potential, ensuring features are both innovative and practical.
- • Craft every detail of new product features from initial idea through UX design to pixel-perfect execution, maintaining high standards of visual and functional quality.
- • Run projects end to end in partnership with engineering teams to drive product vision from concept to ship line.
- • Collaborate closely with Customer Experience, Sales, and Customer Success teams to understand diverse user needs, wants, and behaviors, using insights to prioritize and scope the product roadmap.
- • Partner with Marketing to create compelling user lifecycle stories across the product, website, help guides, and other communication channels.
- • Develop new, intuitive, and convergent design patterns that enhance usability and scale with the product’s growth.
- • Evolve and maintain Notion’s design system intentionally as the platform expands, ensuring consistency and coherence across all interfaces.
- • Translate vague conceptual problems into clear, accessible mental models and user flows that enable immediate value for users.
- • Create clear, intuitive, and visually appealing human interfaces that reflect timeless craftsmanship and mass appeal.
- • Balance business implications and practical constraints with design excellence, avoiding over-prioritization of aesthetics at the expense of functionality or speed.
- • Maintain strong, loosely held beliefs while actively listening to feedback from stakeholders across product management, engineering, research, data, and design.
- • Use storytelling through both visuals and words to drive alignment across cross-functional teams and communicate design rationale effectively.
- • Work cross-functionally with project management, engineering, research, and data teams to ensure design decisions are informed by real-world usage and business goals.
- • Embrace AI tools as collaborators to work smarter, move faster, and build more creatively, without requiring deep AI expertise.
- • Contribute to a culture of craftsmanship, humanity, and long-term thinking, where building lasting tools matters more than shipping the next feature.
- • Design for a global user base that includes individuals, small teams, and large organizations like Toyota, Figma, and OpenAI, ensuring accessibility and adaptability across diverse use cases.
- • Advocate for user-centered solutions rooted in deep empathy, observation, and intuition, not just data or trends.
- • Maintain a focus on reducing fragmentation in work tools by creating seamless, unified experiences that connect docs, notes, projects, calendar, and email with AI.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional product design experience
- • Proven ability to run end-to-end design projects independently
- • Strong intuition for creating accessible mental models and intuitive user flows
- • Experience crafting pixel-perfect, visually appealing interfaces with attention to detail
- • Demonstrated ability to balance business needs with design craft and speed
- • Strong collaboration skills with engineering, research, data, and cross-functional teams
