📋 Description

• As the first Product Designer at Sunrise Robotics, you will define and build the Cell Experience (CX) design language that makes robotic cells legible, trusted, and integrated for operators, supervisors, plant managers, and field engineers across manufacturing environments.
• You will own the design of Cell Experience across all interaction surfaces — including operator software (operations, analytics, settings), physical interfaces (e-stop, lights, sound, feedback), and service touch-points — ensuring seamless, intuitive experiences from onboarding to ongoing operation.
• You will work directly with robotics, AI, software, and mechanical teams to translate designs into production-quality behaviour, validating concepts with real users in live settings and iterating based on floor-level feedback.
• You will establish design standards, interaction models, and system behaviours that make autonomous systems feel safe and predictable to untrained users, creating a scalable, fleet-coherent design system that compounds in value as the company grows.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience carrying design across both product and service, thinking about the full user journey beyond just the interface.
• Strong foundation in UX, interaction design, and service design with high visual quality and proficiency in Figma for rapid prototyping.
• Experience designing for high-stakes, complex systems where users didn’t commission the technology and cannot easily disengage (e.g., manufacturing, healthcare, transport, logistics, or financial services).
• Ability to think in systems across states, flows, behaviours, environments, and human movement within them.
• Clear, structured communication skills to articulate design rationale and drive decisions across engineering, product, and leadership.
• Strong sense of ownership and confidence to make decisions without existing processes to fall back on as a founding design hire.
