- • You will own the Customer Lifecycle design squad, a team of 5 ambitious Product Designers spread across Paris, Berlin, and Barcelona, and turn it into the benchmark for craft and delivery inside Qonto’s 80-person design organization.
- • Your first mission is to lead the end-to-end redesign of our registration flow—the gateway for 500,000+ SME owners who rely on Qonto to open their business accounts in minutes, not days. Every pixel you ship will directly influence acquisition, activation, and long-term retention.
- • Define and uphold craft standards that become the reference for the entire platform: from Figma libraries and interaction patterns to accessibility guidelines and motion language. You will document these standards, socialize them through weekly critiques and monthly rituals, and ensure they evolve with customer needs and market trends.
- • Partner shoulder-to-shoulder with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and Marketers to shape product strategy, prioritize the roadmap, and guarantee execution excellence. You will sit at the intersection of business goals and user delight, translating complex fintech requirements into simple, elegant experiences.
- • Hire and develop world-class talent. You will source, interview, and onboard designers who raise the bar; craft individual growth paths tied to clear milestones; and run performance reviews that balance candid feedback with empathetic coaching. Your goal is to build the team that every ambitious designer in Europe wants to join.
- • Instill a culture of continuous improvement. You will introduce lightweight rituals—design sprints, design QA, retros, and cross-team demos—that keep the squad learning faster than the market moves. You will champion psychological safety so designers feel safe to experiment, fail, and iterate.
- • Influence beyond your squad. You will contribute to Qonto’s global design system, mentor designers in other tribes, and represent the company at external conferences and meet-ups, amplifying our reputation as the place where craft meets impact.
- • Measure what matters. You will define north-star metrics for the Customer Lifecycle area—conversion rate, time-to-first-value, NPS, and task-success rate—and instrument designs so the team can see the real-world impact of every release.
- • Navigate regulatory complexity with creativity. From KYC flows to GDPR consent screens, you will turn compliance requirements into seamless experiences that feel effortless rather than bureaucratic.
- • Champion accessibility and inclusivity. You will ensure every screen meets WCAG 2.2 AA standards and reflects the diversity of the 55+ nationalities already banking with Qonto.
- • Report directly to Julien Hillion, Head of Product Design, in a relationship built on radical candor, mutual respect, and shared ambition. Together you will shape the next chapter of Qonto’s design excellence.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5–8 years of end-to-end Product Design experience, with at least 2–4 years managing or leading designers in fintech, B2B SaaS, or similarly complex domains
- • Proven portfolio showcasing shipped features that drove measurable business impact (conversion, retention, or revenue) in a regulated environment
- • Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and retain high-performing design talent, including clear examples of career progression you have sponsored
- • Fluency in English; working proficiency in French, Spanish, Italian, or German is a strong plus
