Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the full lifecycle of custom software products—from discovery and definition through launch and iteration—while partnering with high-growth startups, mission-driven non-profits, and iconic consumer brands such as Robinhood, World Wildlife Fund, and ESPN.
- • Lead collaborative product design sprints that surface user needs, business goals, and technical constraints; synthesize findings into clear product vision and actionable roadmaps that guide cross-functional teams of designers, engineers, and QA analysts.
- • Translate abstract founder ideas, Series B mandates, or enterprise requirements into well-scoped epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria; break wireframes and prototypes into granular, prioritized tasks for back-end and front-end developers.
- • Champion the end-user experience by articulating workflows, edge cases, and success metrics in language that resonates with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; ensure every feature solves a real problem and can be validated through measurable outcomes.
- • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives; maintain transparent communication channels with clients via Slack, Notion, Jira, and regular video check-ins to surface risks early and celebrate incremental wins.
- • Drive rigorous quality assurance: distinguish bugs from enhancements, author precise bug reports that include steps to reproduce, environment details, and severity ratings; coordinate regression, performance, and accessibility testing before every release.
- • Collaborate with product designers on information architecture, interaction patterns, and visual polish; know when to lean on design expertise and when to step in with logic flows, state diagrams, or data models that clarify complex requirements.
- • Serve as the primary point of accountability for scope, timeline, and budget; proactively escalate trade-offs, negotiate change requests, and maintain a healthy balance between client aspirations and engineering realities.
- • Contribute to Viget’s culture of lifelong learning by leading lunch-and-learns, writing blog posts, and mentoring junior PMs; embody core values of integrity, work ethic, collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- • Leverage technical acumen—understanding how APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure shape product possibilities—to ask insightful questions, foresee constraints, and guide architectural decisions without writing code.
- • Celebrate launches with virtual and in-person retreats, demo days, and post-mortems that capture lessons learned; transition products smoothly to client teams with clear documentation, training sessions, and ongoing support plans.
- • Work fully remote or hybrid from one of four U.S. offices (DC, Durham, Boulder, or Falls Church); participate in quarterly on-site gatherings designed to strengthen camaraderie, spark creativity, and align on company-wide initiatives.
