Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the strategic vision and roadmap for FlightAware’s Data Reports portfolio, translating 180 million messages-per-hour and 2 TB of daily aviation data into revenue-generating, customer-loved products.
- • Lead a cross-functional squad of Product Owners and Data Analysts, mentoring them to become high-impact product leaders while personally diving deep into requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- • Drive evidence-based prioritization by synthesizing customer interviews, usage telemetry, competitive intelligence, and market trends into clear, defensible product backlogs that engineering can execute against sprint after sprint.
- • Craft and maintain living product roadmaps that communicate the “what, when, and why” to internal stakeholders, sales, marketing, and executives—ensuring every team understands how their work ladders up to company OKRs.
- • Collaborate daily with FlightAware’s executive leadership, sales, and marketing to align product direction with go-to-market strategy, pricing models, and revenue targets, turning technical capabilities into compelling value propositions.
- • Represent the Data Reports suite in customer prospect meetings, trade shows, and analyst briefings, distilling complex data capabilities into crisp narratives that accelerate deal velocity and expand average contract value.
- • Champion an Agile mindset—running discovery workshops, story mapping sessions, and sprint reviews that keep engineering, QA, and DevOps teams laser-focused on delivering incremental value every two weeks.
- • Translate raw aviation data into intuitive, high-impact reports and dashboards that serve airlines, airports, OEMs, and regulators—balancing technical depth with user-friendly design to maximize adoption and retention.
- • Establish and monitor KPIs such as report accuracy, query latency, customer NPS, and ARR growth, using dashboards and OKRs to course-correct quickly and celebrate wins transparently.
- • Build a culture of candid feedback and psychological safety, where Product Owners and Analysts feel empowered to challenge assumptions, propose bold ideas, and iterate rapidly.
- • Make tough trade-off decisions between scope, cost, and time, leveraging ROI models and customer impact scoring to keep the roadmap realistic yet ambitious.
- • Create product collateral—release notes, whitepapers, ROI calculators, and demo scripts—that arms sales and marketing with the tools they need to close deals and upsell existing accounts.
- • Partner with data engineering and platform teams to ensure scalability, security, and compliance (GDPR, SOC 2) as data volume and customer count continue to double year-over-year.
- • Stay ahead of aviation industry regulations, emerging data sources (ADS-B, ACARS, satellite), and competitive offerings to identify new monetization opportunities before the market does.
- • Foster a remote-first culture of execution, using Slack, Miro, Jira, and Zoom to keep distributed teams aligned, engaged, and shipping at high velocity.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s plus 7+ years), including at least 5 years in Product Management.
- • Demonstrated success owning and growing a SaaS data product or analytics platform from concept to scale.
- • Proven ability to lead Agile teams, manage backlogs, and ship iterative releases that drive measurable business outcomes.
- • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for executive, sales, and customer audiences.
- • U.S. work authorization without need for future sponsorship.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance starting day one.
- • Three weeks of paid vacation for new hires, plus generous 401(k) with employer match.
