- • Blue J is seeking a driven and experienced Product Manager to spearhead roadmap execution for our critical Engagement & Growth pillar. As a category-defining generative AI solution for tax professionals, Blue J is experiencing hyper-growth, consistently exceeding revenue targets and expanding its ambitious product roadmap. This role is pivotal in shaping how users engage with our B2B SaaS platform, transforming new users into loyal, successful customers.
- • You will be the central force in designing the product experience, engagement systems, and product-led growth motions that drive user activation and deepen product stickiness. This is a unique opportunity to own the core of the Blue J product experience, bridging the gap between initial discovery and sustained, long-term success for our users.
- • Working in a hybrid model based in our downtown Toronto office (1-2 days per week), you will collaborate closely with a dedicated cross-functional team, including Product Designers and Engineers, and partner directly with the Director of Engineering responsible for this area.
- • Your primary objective will be to translate the core product value into repeatable, scalable usage. You will own the product-led motion, meticulously optimizing the user experience and building robust systems that ensure every tax professional who encounters Blue J finds immediate, tangible value and chooses it as their primary tool for tax work.
- • **Own the Engagement & Growth Roadmap:** Define the strategic direction and prioritize initiatives for the Engagement & Growth pillar. Partner with Engineering and Design to articulate what needs to be built, the rationale behind it, and the key metrics for measuring success. Develop a deep understanding of what constitutes exceptional engagement for tax professionals, translating these insights into clear problem statements and actionable success metrics.
- • **Navigate Complex Trade-offs:** Skillfully balance competing priorities such as customer value, technical feasibility, time-to-market, product quality, and long-term scalability. Align stakeholders on strategic decisions, ensuring a cohesive approach to product development.
- • **Build and Scale a Product-Led Experience:** Optimize the entire user journey, from initial onboarding to long-term retention. Focus on enhancing the "First Mile" experience to improve time-to-value, feature adoption, and conversion rates. Leverage data-driven insights to identify and address user drop-off points, implementing improvements that significantly impact activation and conversion.
- • **Enable Self-Serve Discovery:** Design and implement intuitive product systems and onboarding flows that empower users to quickly discover core product value without requiring extensive human intervention. This includes creating pathways for users to understand and utilize advanced features independently.
- • **Elevate the Core Product Experience:** Lead structured discovery processes, including user interviews, usability testing, and workflow observations, to ensure the team is addressing the most critical problems faced by tax professionals. Develop "sticky" workflows and features that enhance user efficiency and make Blue J indispensable for their daily tasks.
- • **Partner for Continuous Delivery:** Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to ship high-quality, user-friendly features with a strong emphasis on product adoption. Foster an "open work" culture, sharing work-in-progress early and often to solicit feedback from stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the development cycle.
- • **Own the Returning User Experience:** Focus on enabling seamless workflows that allow users to effortlessly resume their work, making it simple to return to past projects and continue where they left off. Improve navigation patterns and organizational tools to solidify Blue J as the go-to platform for tax professionals.
- • **Raise the Bar for Polish:** Champion exceptional UX quality and "quality-of-life" features that eliminate friction, enhance usability, and convert casual users into power users. Drive a culture of continuous improvement in product polish and user delight.
- • **Strengthen Product Practice as We Scale:** Bring an "operator mindset" to the role, prioritizing effectively, unblocking teams quickly, and shipping work that demonstrably moves key metrics. Contribute to improving product development processes across Blue J's pillars, including rituals, clarity, documentation, and decision-making frameworks. Enhance experimentation, prototyping, and modern product management workflows as the company scales.
- • This role is ideal for a product leader who thrives in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment and is passionate about leveraging AI to solve complex problems for professionals. You will have a significant impact on the company's trajectory and the success of its users.
