📋 Description

• As a Product Manager at MongoDB, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of MongoDB Atlas, a leading fully managed, multi-cloud database service that empowers innovators to build, transform, and disrupt industries. You will operate at the intersection of technology and customer needs, working closely with world-class engineering, design, marketing, and analytics teams to deliver solutions that resonate with our users and drive business success.
• Your primary focus will be on deeply understanding complex customer problems, formulating insightful hypotheses, and rigorously validating them through innovative design solutions. The ultimate goal is to continuously accelerate the pace at which our users can develop and deploy their own products, making Atlas an indispensable part of their development lifecycle.
• This role is particularly focused on enhancing the operational stability and user experience of Atlas, specifically concerning the deployment and management of new features and services. You will be a key player in ensuring that customer operations and cluster workloads remain consistently available and performant, even amidst complex updates and maintenance.
• You will be responsible for developing and championing robust strategies, tools, processes, and frameworks that will be adopted across a wide spectrum of engineering organizations. The objective is to foster high-confidence rollouts and maintain exceptional operational stability for our global customer base.
• A significant aspect of your role will involve driving seamless collaboration across diverse teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and executive leadership. Your ability to foster alignment and clear communication will be critical to the success of product initiatives.
• You will lead the product team towards optimal decisions by engaging in deep, continuous research with customers, prospects, internal stakeholders, and strategic partners. This direct engagement will provide the foundational insights needed to guide product direction.
• You will maintain a keen awareness of market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies, proactively integrating this intelligence into the product strategy and roadmap to ensure MongoDB Atlas remains at the forefront of the industry.
• A data-driven approach is paramount. You will be passionate about leveraging product data to measure business impact, identify areas for improvement, and continually refine products to achieve excellence. This involves defining key metrics and ensuring they are tracked and acted upon.
• You will forge strategic partnerships with field and go-to-market teams, actively participating in customer engagements to gather feedback, understand challenges, and champion the value proposition of MongoDB Atlas.
• Specifically, you will focus on strengthening and standardizing the methods by which new software and maintenance are rolled out to customers. This includes developing innovative features and strategies that make software delivery across our distributed service safe, predictable, and minimally impactful for our users.
• The role demands a proactive stance in identifying and addressing potential risks associated with software deployments, ensuring that rollback mechanisms are robust and that customer operations are protected.
• You will contribute to the evolution of Atlas by exploring and defining new capabilities, particularly in areas like AI search and retrieval, and advanced application development, ensuring the platform meets the future needs of developers.
• By owning the strategy and roadmap for key Atlas components, you will ensure a frictionless user experience, from initial deployment to ongoing management and optimization.
• Your work will directly influence the operational efficiency and reliability of one of the world's leading cloud database services, impacting thousands of developers and businesses globally.
• You will be a key advocate for our developer and operations engineer users, translating their technical needs and pain points into actionable product requirements and strategic initiatives.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of product management or equivalent experience with a complex technical enterprise-focused product.
• Solid technical skills with working knowledge of developer, DevOps, and operations engineering domains; ability to evaluate new technologies and speak authoritatively on technical aspects of a product portfolio.
• Expert-level proficiency in one or more advanced technical topics, ideally with previous experience as a developer, operations engineer, or similar.
• Demonstrated success in solving problems for a developer audience and delivering software products to market.
• Ability to effectively establish and communicate product strategy & vision, translating technology features into business benefits.
• Strong team skills, a can-do attitude, optimism, humility, and willingness to embrace the unknown.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
