- • As the first product-focused engineer at LanceDB Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the product direction of a cutting-edge AI-native data platform, translating high-level strategic goals into tangible engineering outcomes that directly impact user success and market positioning.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include shaping the product roadmap in collaboration with the CTO and engineering leadership, conducting deep dives into competitor landscapes, user needs, and adjacent technologies, engaging regularly with users to gather insights and drive product improvements, facilitating cross-functional prioritization decisions across engineering, field, and support teams, and working closely with engineers as a technically respected peer to ensure alignment and execution.

🎯 Requirements
- • 3–8+ years of experience as a software engineer or in a highly technical product role
- • Proven track record of shipping and iterating on products end-to-end, preferably in large-scale data platforms such as databases, data infrastructure, or ML/AI systems
- • Demonstrated ability to engage with users through interviews, support, design partners, or community involvement to inform product decisions
- • Experience influencing roadmap and prioritization decisions in engineering-led environments
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to drive alignment across technical and non-technical teams
