Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As an AI Product Manager at Develop Health, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating access to life-saving medications by improving AI-driven healthcare workflows such as benefit verification and prior authorization. Your work will directly impact over 400,000 patients monthly by reducing delays and inefficiencies in a high-growth, mission-driven environment.
- • You will own defined product surfaces end-to-end, collaborating closely with a small engineering pod to identify pain points, prototype solutions using AI-native tools like Claude Code, and ship high-impact improvements that eliminate manual bottlenecks in healthcare systems.
- • Develop Health is an elite, fast-scaling startup founded by serial healthcare entrepreneurs who previously built and exited Rupa Health and Canvas Medical. Backed by major funding and achieving 10x revenue growth in under two years, the company partners with top pharmacy benefit managers and payers to transform healthcare interactions through automation.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in complex healthcare systems—including EHRs, payer portals, PBM formularies, and NCPDP standards—while sharpening your skills in AI product development, human-in-the-loop design, and data-driven iteration. You’ll gain end-to-end ownership experience in a high-impact, early-stage environment where your decisions directly shape product and patient outcomes.
- • Your day-to-day will involve speaking regularly with clinical teams, customers, and internal stakeholders to uncover pain points and translate them into clear product opportunities. You’ll write lightweight requirements, partner with engineers to ship quickly, and prototype frontend changes directly using AI coding tools—bypassing traditional design handoffs when speed is critical.
- • You will continuously evaluate and improve AI workflows by measuring model accuracy, testing edge cases, and establishing feedback loops—for example, assessing how well the system routes prior auth requests or surfaces correct insurance plans.
- • Beyond the first six months, you’ll drive growth by owning product domains end-to-end, making both product and technical decisions, and using operational and usage data to identify friction, measure impact, and set your own priorities.
- • You’ll become a domain expert in fragmented, poorly documented healthcare systems—learning how external workflows like EHR integrations and payer portals function in practice—and translate that knowledge into intuitive, clinician-loved product experiences.
- • This role demands comfort with ambiguity, a bias for action, and the ability to learn rapidly in evolving environments. You’ll need to quickly grasp our codebase, data model, and AI workflows to identify where quality excels and where improvement is needed.
- • Ideal candidates bring 3–6 years of product management experience, preferably in startups or fast-moving settings, and are on their second or third PM role. You’ve shipped real products, worked closely with engineers, and thrive when navigating incomplete documentation and changing external systems.
- • Strong product judgment, prioritization, and communication are essential. You must be genuinely interested in AI product development—understanding how to evaluate LLMs, design effective human-in-the-loop workflows, and recognize where models break down in real-world use.
- • Bonus points go to those with hands-on experience in AI-powered products, SQL or basic data analysis, API concepts, or direct prototyping with tools like Claude Code or Cursor. Startup grit—wearing multiple hats and moving fast with limited resources—is highly valued.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–6 years of product management experience, ideally in startups or fast-moving environments, with a track record of shipping real products and collaborating closely with engineering teams.
- • Strong product judgment, prioritization, and communication skills, with proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments where external systems are poorly documented or frequently changing.
- • Genuine interest in AI product development, including experience evaluating model outputs, designing human-in-the-loop workflows, and understanding LLM limitations in production settings.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary of $160,000–$200,000 plus meaningful early-stage equity in a high-growth healthcare AI startup.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, along with flexible paid time off to support work-life balance and well-being.
- • High-end workstation and tooling budget to ensure you have the best equipment and AI-native tools (like Claude Code) to maximize productivity and impact.
