Product Manager - Commercial Multi-Peril

📋 Description

• • Lead the P&L management of American Family Insurance’s Commercial Multi-Peril (CMP) product line, ensuring profitability and growth aligned with annual business plans.
• • Develop and execute product strategies related to pricing, underwriting rules, contract language, and system/platform enhancements to improve product performance and customer experience.
• • Conduct root cause analysis using internal and external data sources to identify drivers of profitability, growth, and customer satisfaction.
• • Research and analyze competitive intelligence, market trends, and regulatory changes to inform product decisions and proactively respond to industry shifts.
• • Collaborate with subject matter experts, product development teams, claims, underwriting support, and distribution partners to implement product improvements and expansion initiatives.
• • Own and maintain product guides, underwriting guidelines, and line-level communications as directed by the Sr. Manager of Product.
• • Lead line analysis, CAT/CE analysis, and business review preparations to assess performance and guide strategic initiatives.
• • Drive continuous improvement through lean innovation and agile methodologies in product development and delivery.
• • Apply advanced financial and data analysis techniques to evaluate pricing models, risk exposure, and product viability.
• • Serve as the primary point of contact between Product Development and key operational teams including Claims and Underwriting Support for the CMP line of business.
• • Identify and develop market expansion opportunities in partnership with distribution channels to increase product reach and penetration.
• • Ensure all product initiatives comply with regulatory requirements and maintain financial viability.
• • Deliver insights derived from customer empathy, market research, and competitor benchmarking to shape product roadmaps and innovation efforts.
• • Participate in in-person New Employee Orientation at Madison, WI Headquarters or one of the core locations (Boston, Denver, Eden Prairie, Keene, St. Joseph, Phoenix) during the first week of employment.
• • Travel up to 10% for business needs, including meetings, training, or stakeholder engagements.
• • For candidates residing within 35–50 miles of Madison, WI; Boston, MA; Denver, CO; Eden Prairie, MN; Keene, NH; St. Joseph, MO; or Phoenix, AZ, this is a hybrid role requiring 10 days per month in the office.
