📋 Description

• As a Product Manager for Core Platform at X-Bow Systems Inc., you will own the foundational layer of an AI-powered offensive security platform that autonomously discovers, validates, and exploits vulnerabilities—enabling organizations to defend against threats in hours instead of weeks. This role is critical because the core platform underpins every user interaction, and improving it transforms the product from merely functional to truly intuitive, secure, and scalable in a high-stakes cybersecurity landscape.
• You will own foundational platform improvements by specifying and shipping changes to core workflows such as user configuration of test scopes, enforcement of security boundaries, and surfacing of results—ensuring that features built on top of this layer are reliable and secure by design.
• You will fix the defaults by identifying silent misconfiguration risks and building validation mechanisms and guardrails that prevent users from inadvertently creating unsafe or ineffective test configurations, reducing support burden and increasing trust in the platform.
• You will rethink core abstractions by evolving outdated primitives that were designed for earlier product versions, requiring deep analysis of downstream impacts across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers to ensure architectural integrity as the system scales.
• You will make data accessible by eliminating the need for users to navigate multiple screens to answer basic questions about test results, designing intuitive data navigation paths that surface critical insights immediately.
• You will navigate cross-team changes by understanding blast radius, negotiating tradeoffs between engineering, design, and infrastructure teams, and driving alignment on foundational updates without formal authority—acting as a technical and interpersonal bridge.
• You will write specs that engineers respect by demonstrating deep understanding of technical constraints, data flows, and system boundaries in your PRDs, ensuring that proposed solutions are not only desirable but feasible and well-founded.
• You will join a mission-driven team of builders, hackers, and researchers led by Oege de Moor (creator of GitHub Copilot) and backed by Sequoia and Altimeter, working at the forefront of AI-applied cybersecurity where your work directly contributes to uncovering real-world zero-days and shaping the future of offensive security.
• You will grow your ability to operate at the intersection of UX and systems thinking, developing the judgment to distinguish between symptomatic fixes and root-cause solutions, and evolving into a product leader who can define what 'right' looks like in ambiguous, high-impact scenarios.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience shipping product changes that required coordination across frontend, backend, and infrastructure teams—not just UI-focused features.
• Background in products where misconfiguration has real-world consequences, such as security tools, infrastructure platforms, developer tools, or cloud services.
• Experience making or heavily influencing architectural decisions as a PM, with understanding of system boundaries, data flow, and why seemingly simple changes (e.g., 'just add a checkbox') often require significant engineering effort.
• Track record of designing configuration or setup flows that meaningfully reduced user confusion and support load.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a startup or high-growth environment, owning problems end-to-end with minimal oversight.
• Strong technical writing skills—ability to produce clear, precise, and engineer-readable specifications that go beyond marketing copy.
