📋 Description

• As a Product Manager II for Financial Systems at Kraken, you will be at the forefront of shaping and scaling the critical infrastructure that powers our global financial operations. This is a unique opportunity to define and establish a robust product management framework within a domain that has historically operated on a project-driven model. You will be instrumental in setting clear ownership, defining a compelling product vision, and establishing best practices for how product management functions across Kraken’s core financial systems.
• You will own the product roadmap for Kraken’s financial systems, encompassing accounting, treasury, and related financial platforms. This involves deeply understanding the needs of our Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Risk, and Compliance teams, and translating those complex requirements into scalable, reliable, and auditable system capabilities.
• A significant part of your role will involve partnering closely with your dedicated engineering squads to foster a strong product culture. You will guide them in adopting product-centric methodologies, ensuring clear accountability, and driving the development of high-quality financial solutions.
• Collaboration is key. You will forge strong partnerships with product owners across the entire organization whose products and services interact with or depend on our financial and treasury systems. This ensures seamless integration, clear interface definitions, and aligned priorities across the company.
• You will work at the intersection of highly technical systems and intricate financial workflows. This requires the ability to engage confidently in discussions about system design, data models, integrations, and the trade-offs that impact reliability, performance, and accuracy.
• Your responsibilities will include driving the end-to-end product development lifecycle. This means taking features from ideation through to launch, ensuring timely delivery, and upholding Kraken’s stringent standards for quality, reliability, and control.
• You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, effective liquidity management, adherence to regulatory requirements, and supporting day-to-day operational decision-making. This spans across our diverse portfolio of crypto-native products, tokenized equities, and traditional financial instruments.
• This role offers the chance to contribute to the strengthening of the broader product group by actively collaborating with a globally distributed team of fellow product managers, sharing insights, and driving collective improvement.
• You will be responsible for understanding the lifecycle events of various financial instruments, including crypto assets, tokenized equities, and derivatives, and ensuring our systems can accurately process and report on them.
• A core aspect of the role involves understanding and improving payment processes and methods, including both fiat and crypto rails, and ensuring robust settlement, clearing, and reconciliation mechanisms are in place.
• You will act as a subject matter expert for financial systems, providing guidance and strategic direction to stakeholders and engineering teams.

🎯 Requirements

• Prior experience in product management or technical product management, with a proven track record of delivering complex products.
• Experience working on complex internal systems, platforms, or enterprise software, ideally within financial services or trading environments.
• Deep understanding of financial instruments and markets, including crypto assets, tokenized equities, derivatives, securities, and their associated lifecycle events.
• Strong knowledge of payment processes and methods, including fiat and crypto rails, settlement, clearing, and reconciliation concepts.
