- • As a Product Manager II, Notifications at Tinder, you will be at the forefront of shaping how millions of users connect and engage with the platform. This pivotal role focuses on the strategy, development, and execution of Tinder’s user-facing notification features and the underlying platform that powers them. You will be instrumental in crafting smarter, more personalized messaging systems designed to drive key business metrics and, most importantly, facilitate meaningful connections for our diverse global user base.
- • You will own the complete lifecycle of our notification systems, from conceptualization and strategy to delivery and iteration. This includes defining the roadmap for transactional triggers, ensuring content personalization is at the core of our messaging, and optimizing the send decisioning logic across multiple channels. Your work will directly impact how users experience Tinder, guiding them through their journey with timely and relevant communications.
- • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work hand-in-hand with backend engineering teams to build robust and scalable notification infrastructure, partner with analytics to deeply understand user behavior and campaign performance, and align with marketing to ensure our messaging resonates with our audience. Cross-functional partnerships will be essential to ensure a cohesive and impactful user experience.
- • The Engagement team, where this role resides, is dedicated to delivering the right message to the right user at the right time, with the ultimate goal of driving successful dating outcomes. This team manages a sophisticated homegrown CRM platform, spearheads the development of lifecycle notifications, and oversees the operational execution of sending billions of notifications each quarter. Your contributions will be vital to the team’s success in leveraging advanced targeting and bold experimentation to boost feature adoption, enhance user retention, and foster meaningful engagement.
- • You will be responsible for defining the strategic vision for notifications, identifying opportunities for innovation, and translating user needs and business objectives into actionable product requirements. This involves conducting market research, analyzing competitor strategies, and staying abreast of the latest trends in communication technology and user engagement.
- • A significant part of your role will involve deep dives into data. You will analyze user engagement patterns, A/B test different notification strategies, and measure the impact of your features on key performance indicators such as user retention, conversion rates, and overall platform engagement. This data-driven approach will inform your product decisions and ensure continuous improvement.
- • You will champion the user experience, ensuring that all notifications are not only effective but also respectful of the user’s time and preferences. This means developing strategies for notification frequency, content relevance, and opt-out mechanisms to maintain a positive and non-intrusive user journey.
- • Leading the product development process, you will work closely with design and engineering teams to translate product requirements into elegant and user-friendly solutions. You will manage the product backlog, prioritize features, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to impact a product used by millions globally, contributing to its mission of helping people find meaningful connections. You will be empowered to experiment, innovate, and drive significant growth within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- • You will be responsible for defining the success metrics for notification features, monitoring their performance post-launch, and iterating based on data and user feedback. This includes understanding the nuances of different communication channels – push notifications, email, SMS, and in-app messages – and optimizing strategies for each.
- • You will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team, sharing insights, and contributing to the collective knowledge base. Your ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively will be essential in aligning stakeholders and driving consensus.
- • Ultimately, you will be the advocate for the notification experience at Tinder, ensuring it aligns with the company’s mission, values, and strategic goals, while delivering exceptional value to our users.
