Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own a product area with full accountability for a 6-12 month roadmap balancing new feature development, user requests, and content debt in PK-5 literacy education.
  • • Champion PK-5 students and teachers by representing user needs across all product development phases, using customer discovery insights to identify quality gaps and enhance engagement.
  • • Serve as the domain expert for your product area, understanding market dynamics, user use cases, and real-world performance metrics in K–12 literacy instruction.
  • • Conduct competitive research to identify market gaps, emerging trends, and new opportunities that inform product ideation and strategic direction.
  • • Translate organizational north star vision into actionable quarterly plans, including detailed feature/task estimates, release schedules, and prioritized backlogs in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • • Set and own feature-level OKRs in collaboration with GPM/Director, track performance metrics, and use data to demonstrate impact on teacher efficiency and student outcomes.
  • • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Curriculum Specialists, designers, interaction developers, learning scientists, marketers, and supply chain teams to deliver solutions that are valuable, delightful, and feasible.
  • • Own end-to-end product delivery from ideation and requirement gathering through launch and post-launch iteration, making timely trade-off decisions on scope, quality, and timeline.
  • • Lead product execution by participating in Agile practices, resolving blockers within 24 hours, and clearly communicating sprint goals and broader context to all team members.
  • • Identify and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance teacher effectiveness, increase student engagement, or improve team efficiency by partnering directly with engineering teams.
  • • Communicate with precision as the primary point of contact for your product area, providing clear updates to stakeholders on progress, trade-offs, priority shifts, and timelines.
  • • Operate with an outcome-oriented mindset, celebrating progress on metrics that matter rather than just feature delivery.
  • • Proactively anticipate blockers and maintain backup plans (Plan B, Plan C) to ensure continuous momentum.
  • • Balance intuition with data, leveraging product sense to make decisions under uncertainty while consistently seeking evidence to validate assumptions.
  • • Foster a collaborative, safe-to-fail environment where curiosity is encouraged and all team voices are heard.
  • • Prioritize ruthlessly, saying "no" to good ideas to focus on great ones, and clearly communicate rationale to teammates and stakeholders.
  • • Bridge technical, pedagogical, and operational domains—dive deep with engineers and supply chain planners while explaining pedagogical impact to school leaders.
  • • Navigate creative workflows with diplomacy, determining when educational content is "good enough to ship" versus when it requires additional editorial refinement.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5 years of experience in product management, ideally within EdTech, SaaS, consumer tech, or a complex B2B2C environment
  • • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required (combination of education and direct experience accepted); advanced degree preferred
  • • Proven track record of shipping features from concept to launch and iterating based on post-launch feedback
  • • Strong analytical skills and experience in Agile environments with deep understanding of sprint cycles, user story mapping, and discovery techniques
  • • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • • Empathy-first mindset with deep respect for challenges facing educators today

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Salary range of $128,000 - $140,000
  • • Annual discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance
  • • 401(k) plan
  • • Competitive health insurance and mental health options
  • • Paid time off and parental leave
  • • Access to best-in-class professional development programs
