📋 Description

• As a Product Manager, Platform at Protege Inc., you will own the critical loop between the Solutions teams’ bespoke delivery work and the internal Atlas data platform, transforming repeated, manual efforts into scalable, reusable product capabilities that accelerate AI training data access at scale.
• You will stay deeply embedded with Solutions teams to observe ingestion patterns, transformation workflows, and delivery formats in real-world use, identifying which recurring tasks represent true platform opportunities versus one-off custom work, and translating those insights into actionable product opportunities.
• You will own the Atlas roadmap for your domain, writing sharp, unambiguous specifications grounded in actual delivery work, prioritizing opportunities based on impact and feasibility, and making clear tradeoffs between immediate deal pressure and long-term platform leverage.
• You will act as a bridge — not a gatekeeper — by participating in delivery retros, customer calls, and field engagements to ensure your judgments remain rooted in real operational realities, while partnering closely with Engineering and the Data Lab to scope platform investments that are both concrete and appropriately ambitious.
• You will design and implement the operating rhythm for the bespoke-to-platform process: defining how patterns are flagged, evaluated, prioritized, and fed back to the field, creating a lightweight yet structured system that improves reuse and decision quality without slowing delivery velocity.
• You will help Protege evolve from a services-heavy model to a product-led organization by building the muscle for repeatable, scalable operations — ensuring that insights from the field directly shape the platform’s evolution and that engineering teams receive clear, actionable direction.
• You will work under the guidance of the Head of Product to align Atlas priorities with Protege’s broader product strategy as the company scales, ensuring that platform investments support both near-term customer success and long-term market leadership in AI training data exchange.
• In your first 30 days, you will build a working understanding of the Atlas platform, observe how Solutions teams deliver today, and identify early patterns of repetition — earning trust by showing up in the right rooms and asking precise technical and operational questions.
• By day 60, you will have run an early version of the bespoke-to-platform loop, produced initial specs tied to real delivery needs, and demonstrated strong judgment about what should be productized now, what should wait, and what should remain custom.
• By day 90, you will have established a repeatable cadence for intake, prioritization, roadmap updates, and field feedback — making Atlas roadmap decisions more grounded, transparent, and valuable to both Solutions and Engineering teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 5-8 years of product management experience, preferably in data infrastructure, data tooling, or data-adjacent platforms.
• Proven experience working at a company transitioning from services or custom delivery toward repeatable, product-led operations.
• Strong fluency in how data is ingested, transformed, validated, and delivered at scale, including familiarity with ETL/ELT patterns, schema evolution, and data quality frameworks.
• Exceptional ability to write clear, unambiguous specifications and prioritization memos that engineers and cross-functional partners can act on without heavy translation.
• Comfort making decisions with incomplete information and communicating tradeoffs honestly and transparently to stakeholders.
• Demonstrated credibility with teams you do not formally manage, earned through proximity, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through.
• A high bar for clarity in writing and communication, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into actionable product guidance.
