Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • You own the platform powering how Kin gets its products built, configured, and managed — product API, product expansion and revision, and the AI-enablement layer that plugs internal teams into it.
- • Define how internal teams — State Management, Underwriting, Insurance, Compliance, and others — consume and depend on product data, and build the platform to serve them as customers
- • Drive the Product API strategy and versioning standards so internal and future external consumers get reliable, well-documented interfaces
- • Lead discovery on how the platform should extend as Kin's offerings grow beyond insurance, grounding decisions in how consuming teams actually work today
- • Build and scale the AI-enablement layer on the Product API MCP, using AI for rapid prototyping and other enablement work that lets consuming teams self-serve
- • Partner with engineering and design to take platform capabilities from prototype through production rollout
- • Write specs and requirements precise enough that engineering can build IHOP and PAPI features with confidence and minimal back-and-forth
- • Define and own the metrics that measure how independently consuming teams can deliver and maintain products, and use them to drive the roadmap
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in product management, with direct ownership of a platform, API, or internal tooling product
- • Experience treating internal teams as customers — you can translate their workflows into platform requirements without over-indexing on your own assumptions
- • Comfort operating in ambiguity where the platform's scope is expanding (e.g., beyond insurance) and the right boundaries aren't yet fixed
- • Technical fluency to work directly with engineers on API design, versioning, and data model decisions
- • Experience with or strong interest in applying AI tools to internal workflows — prototyping, configuration, or enablement use cases
- • Written and verbal communication skills that hold up with both engineers and cross-functional stakeholders like Compliance and Underwriting
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary and company equity through Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), granted as part of our standard compensation package and based on role and level
- • 401(k) with company match up to 4% of eligible earnings
- • Multiple medical plan options, plus dental and vision coverage
- • Company-funded HSA contributions (based on medical plan selection)
- • Company-paid life insurance and short-term disability
- • IMPORTANT LOCATION EXTRACTION:
- • city: null
- • region: null
- • country_code: null
- • is_remote: true
