đź“‹ Description
- • As a Product Marketing Manager at Plane Labs Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping and communicating the value proposition of our innovative open-core work management platform. You will own the positioning and messaging for Plane's suite of products, including Project Management, Wiki & Docs, Intake, and Plane AI, ensuring our narrative resonates deeply with target audiences and clearly articulates our differentiation in a crowded market. Your role is pivotal in driving both self-serve (PLG) revenue and generating qualified pipeline for our sales team, making Marketing a critical revenue-generating function within Plane.
- • You will be responsible for building a robust messaging system that scales effectively across diverse personas, industries, and product editions. This involves maintaining a single source of truth for all product claims, proof points, and brand tone, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all communications. A key aspect of your role will be to keep our competitive differentiation sharp against both established incumbents and emerging modern alternatives, providing the sales and community teams with the insights they need to succeed.
- • Leading end-to-end go-to-market (GTM) strategies for product launches will be a core responsibility. This includes developing the launch narrative, crafting comprehensive launch plans, creating compelling assets, and overseeing distribution. You will orchestrate the creation of launch kits, encompassing landing pages, announcement copy, email campaigns, social media content, and in-product communications. Your ability to coordinate seamlessly with Product, Design, Growth, Sales, and Community teams on timelines and deliverables will be crucial for successful and impactful launches. Following each launch, you will conduct thorough post-launch reviews to identify learnings and refine our playbook for future releases.
- • You will conduct in-depth customer and prospect interviews to uncover critical pain points, buying triggers, and the precise language that drives conversion. This research will inform your understanding of the market landscape, enabling you to track category and competitor moves, and refresh competitive comparisons and battlecards regularly. The insights you gather will be vital in refining our Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs), use cases, and packaging inputs, feeding directly into strategic roadmap discussions with the Product team.
- • Empowering our Sales, Partner, and Community teams through effective enablement is another key outcome. You will create essential sales collateral, including decks, one-pagers, demo scripts, talk tracks, and FAQs, equipping these teams with the knowledge and tools to effectively represent Plane. This includes developing strategies for objection handling and competitive positioning that align with market realities. Furthermore, you will produce clear explainers for our different product editions (Cloud, Self-hosted, Air-gapped) and ensure the enablement library remains current and easily accessible.
- • You will own the website copy for our product, solution, and industry pages, as well as comparison pages. Your task is to translate complex features into clear, compelling narratives that explain 'what it is,' 'who it's for,' and 'why it matters.' A significant part of this involves improving the product evaluation flow on our website, ensuring potential customers can quickly understand Plane's value and have their questions answered, thereby reducing friction and accelerating their journey towards adoption. You will also ensure messaging consistency across our website, documentation, and all launch-related surfaces.
- • Collaborating with the Growth team, you will work to enhance user activation and feature adoption. This involves identifying key adoption moments within the user journey and developing lifecycle messaging to guide users towards deeper engagement. By reinforcing Plane's value proposition more clearly throughout the user lifecycle, you will also play a role in reducing churn drivers.
- • Finally, you will define and track success metrics for all launches and messaging initiatives. This includes monitoring adoption signals, conversion impact, and pipeline influence. You will leverage feedback from support channels, sales calls, and community interactions to continuously refine our positioning and messaging. The expectation is to operate with a fast iteration cycle: ship, measure, adjust, and repeat, ensuring Plane's marketing efforts are always optimized and data-driven.
