📋 Description

• As a Product Operations Analyst at Numeral SAS, you will play a pivotal role in transforming how digital businesses navigate complex tax compliance across 47 U.S. states and 50+ countries, directly enabling the company’s mission to eliminate regulatory burdens so teams can focus on innovation and growth.
• You will own the end-to-end execution of advanced and specialty tax filings, translating intricate jurisdictional requirements into scalable, repeatable operational processes that ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance at scale.
• Acting as a critical liaison between operations and engineering, you will identify inefficiencies in current filing workflows and partner with product and tech teams to automate manual steps, driving product improvements that reduce toil and increase system reliability.
• You will leverage SQL to extract, cleanse, analyze, and validate large datasets from multiple sources, building dashboards and audit trails that ensure data integrity, support regulatory reporting, and uncover opportunities for process optimization.
• Embracing Numeral’s AI-native culture, you will actively use tools like Claude Code to accelerate problem-solving, automate routine tasks (e.g., data validation, rule mapping, exception handling), and continuously improve your own efficiency and impact.
• You will operate as a generalist problem-solver, proactively identifying broken or suboptimal processes across the tax operations lifecycle—whether it’s reconciling discrepancies, improving documentation, or designing new SOPs—and implementing solutions that lay the foundation for future automation.
• You will join a high-velocity, mission-driven startup that has tripled revenue year-over-year since its 2023 founding, serving over 2,500 paying customers and backed by top-tier investors including Benchmark, Mayfield, and Y-Combinator, offering a rare opportunity to shape both product and operations in a fast-growing AI-first tax platform.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, and compliance, you will gain deep exposure to U.S. and international tax systems, SaaS product operations, and AI-augmented workflows—building a unique hybrid skill set at the intersection of operations, data, and product.
• This role offers significant autonomy and ownership: your contributions will directly influence product roadmap decisions, operational efficiency metrics, and customer satisfaction, with clear pathways to grow into senior operations, product, or data-focused roles as the company scales.

🎯 Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of professional experience in an analytical, operations, data, or product-adjacent role (e.g., business analyst, operations specialist, data analyst, or product coordinator).
• Strong SQL proficiency with hands-on experience writing complex queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases; familiarity with data validation, pipeline auditing, and ensuring accuracy in high-stakes regulatory contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-autonomy, early-stage startup environment—self-directed, scrappy, and energized by ambiguity, with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.
• Located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco, CA, to work hybrid or in-person at Numeral’s headquarters.
• Strong preference for candidates with prior experience or enthusiastic adoption of AI tools like Claude Code to augment workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance problem-solving speed and quality.
