By integrating our technology, our partners can offer these critical financial services to their small business customers with ease. Parafin shoulders the entire burden of complexity associated with capital markets, underwriting, risk assessment, loan servicing, regulatory compliance, and customer support, allowing our partners to focus on their core business.
  • • We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Product Operations Specialist to join our growing team. This role is instrumental in scaling our operations and driving the success of our capital products. As a critical operator within our product suite, you will be directly responsible for ensuring a superior experience for the small businesses we serve. Your primary focus will be on developing, refining, and executing best-in-class processes related to payments and fraud prevention.
  • • You will immerse yourself in Parafin's Capital products, becoming a subject matter expert. This involves delving deep into the intricacies of our offerings to identify and resolve complex issues. You will be an on-the-ground operator, actively contributing to day-to-day functions. This includes troubleshooting payment discrepancies, conducting thorough data analysis to uncover insights, and meticulously building and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
  • • This position is ideal for an individual who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and possesses a passion for building scalable operational frameworks. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves to tackle challenges head-on and are excited about collaborating within a rapidly growing startup to foster the success of small businesses, this is the opportunity for you.
  • • Key Responsibilities will include:
  • • Assisting in the development and implementation of robust operational solutions to effectively evaluate complex business risk issues within a high-velocity environment.
  • • Identifying opportunities to automate and streamline existing operational processes, taking ownership of initiatives to build in-house capabilities or select and manage external vendor solutions.
  • • Conducting detailed reviews and risk assessments for high-priority merchants to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • • Troubleshooting and resolving payment-related issues for our merchants with efficiency and professionalism, ensuring a high-quality service experience through email and phone support.
  • • Managing and coordinating cross-functional work streams, collaborating closely with our customer support, data science, compliance, and engineering teams to enhance the overall merchant experience and drive capital origination growth.
  • • Critically reviewing current operational processes, providing insightful feedback and actionable recommendations for continuous improvement of product operations and Parafin's strategic direction.
  • • Working collaboratively with our partners to pinpoint areas of potential risk and conduct thorough investigations into fraudulent activities.
  • • Leveraging data-driven analysis to identify key areas for operational optimization, efficiency gains, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • • Contributing to the development and maintenance of internal knowledge bases and process documentation to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • • Participating in user acceptance testing (UAT) for new product features and operational tools to ensure smooth deployment and functionality.
  • • Monitoring key operational metrics and performance indicators, reporting on trends and recommending adjustments as needed.
  • • Supporting the onboarding and training of new team members on operational procedures and best practices.
  • • Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in payments, fraud, and fintech operations to inform process improvements.
  • • Acting as a point of contact for escalated operational issues, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to de-escalate situations effectively.
  • • Contributing to the development of playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various operational scenarios.
  • • Proactively identifying and flagging potential product or operational gaps that could impact merchant experience or business risk.
  • • Supporting ad-hoc projects and initiatives as directed by the Product Operations leadership team.
  • • Ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory and compliance requirements in daily operations.
  • • Facilitating clear and concise communication between technical and non-technical teams to resolve operational challenges.
  • • Analyzing transaction data to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential areas for fraud detection or process improvement.
  • • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our merchant onboarding and lifecycle management processes.
  • • Developing a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and how Parafin's offerings differentiate themselves.
  • • Playing a key role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of Parafin's financial products.
  • • Championing a customer-centric approach in all operational activities, ensuring that the needs of small businesses are always prioritized.
  • • Assisting in the development of reporting dashboards to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • • Participating in post-mortem analyses of incidents to identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
  • • Collaborating with the product team to provide operational feedback on product roadmaps and feature development.
  • • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data used for operational decision-making and reporting.
  • • Supporting the implementation of new tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • • Developing expertise in the specific financial products and services offered by Parafin.
  • • Contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Product Operations team.
